I expect it would be similar.

All foods - all things we humans eat - break down during digestion into a number of basic elements: amino acids, fatty acids, sugars, etc. Kale and donuts. Shiraz and bean shoots. The quantity and relative proportions of these basic elements vary greatly between different individual humans, and between different human societies.

Millions of years of mammalian evolution, and hundreds of thousands of years of human evolution, has adapted us smart apes to gain sufficient nutrition from a vast array of foods, in hugely differing environmental and societal situations.

There is no 'perfect' or 'ideal' human diet.

For sure, significant excesses or deficiencies of some specific food components may have deleterious impact on health or longevity.

But worrying about occasional KFC, or fish & chips, or a few glasses of wine to me is akin to worrying about a meteorite landing on your house.

I share the same sentiments. Broad brushing 'fast food is bad' seems to be a generalist view across most people. I suppose the same could be said about alcohol, crisps etc. I think 'moderation' is key, rather than elimination.

deep fried chicken from a restaurant maybe no better , problem is the amount of fat in the chicken skin , and unlike a roast chicken where the fat flows out, with deep fried you get get a coating that absorbs fat also ….. the zinger burger fillets seem to be skinless, so just coating that can absorb fat, no fat from the skin …….

fast food is often made to a price , remove the skin, people think portion is small so you need to give more meat ….add more coating ….you can only so much before it needs to be a batter to make the pieces look big ……it’s why chinese restaurants like selling chicken in batter, you can add lots of batter to make it look big ……… healthiest is grilled chicken with no skin and no batter but a coating to add flavour ……

Every. Single. Time. There is a fast food promotion, and the health police police seem to emerge.

Yes. We all know people make posts that irritate some people.

But why always the snipes and snarks? Every. Time. If you don't like the health police posts, just don't bother to comment.

Take your posting righteousness, put it in a blender with RAT tests and masks, and give yourself an IQ increase. No cheap rubber hose and lubricant necessary.

I cannot imagine there are any adults who live under the delusion that fast food police actually prevent anyone from eating whatever diet they wish. Obviously millions upon millions choose such options.

      • i have zinger stacker at least once a week, but some of the people and their kids in kfc i see are so fat it must be more often …… adults have choices in what they eat but kids don’t ….. your parents take you to kfc and their menu are your options , that is what you eat or go hungry ……. unless you are old enough to skateboard elsewhere and buy food with your pocket money …..but young kids trust their parents and eat what’s put in front of them.

Time for some KFC rice cooker dinner tonight

  • I used to work at kfc back in the day. Yes you do get sick of the chicken but after a couple of days you want it again.

    • +2

This is me and I don't work at KFC.

  • Literally 2 weeks into keto and first cheat day is next wednesday but man I wanna have this tonight plus the 5 tenders add on :(

    • +1

Would this not fit in keto diet?

      • +1

That coating would be a whole lot of carbs.

  • Any idea which franchisees in Sydney do Hot and Spicy? Seems like not all of them do so wondering if there is a list

    • you can check in the App.
KFC George St (near Town Hall) and Artamon offer hot n spicy.

      • I recall Lindfield (Pacific Hwy on the corner) does as well.

    • I've read here that Chatswood does. Not sure of any others. Cwood is too far for me when I have a KFC 5 mins away.

      • +1

i think its just the one at the station, not the ones in the shopping centres

  • NSW no good?

    • -8

Be thankful NSW doesn't have Dan.

      • +4

The two comments I've read from you on this thread are related to politics and vaccines, and not delicious chicken. Find something else to do with your time.

        • -5

How about reading the third then, or alternatively, just mind your own business?

      • Yeah good luck with Dom.

  • Every day I wait for them to bring hot rods back to WA, the only KFC chicken I like :(

  • now if u can bring back hot and spicy then dinner for the week is set.

  • +1

Don't forget about the survey free chips and drink offer.

  • Omg I just ate this and feel so sick now…never again !!

    • You ate 6 pieces of chicken?

      • Too much? It’s bulking season…but to be fair the cat ate the rest

        • +1

It's doable but I suppose the advantage is that it will put you off kfc for a while.

    • Ngl $6.95 for basically a day's worth of food is pretty amazing only meat pie and sausages come to mind when trying to match something like this.. Or Coles burgers.

  • SHOWS UP IN COLONEL'S OFFERS IN WA !

    16 pieces for ~$21:

    • 2 x 6-pack = ~$14 (seems funny calling it a 6-pack - more like a 6-pack destroyer)

    • 1 x 4-pack = ~$7 (Cheap as Chips hack)

    • +1

      52 pieces for $83.40

      2 x 6 pack and 10 x 4 pack

And by the way, I was able to order 3 from my local store so not sure where the limit of 2 comes from?

  • +2

I declare this - an Incredible LUNCHEON!!!

    • Steamed Hams 🍔

  • anyone tried ordering before 6pm and collecting after 6pm? even though it says pick up before 6pm

    • +2

you should be able to order anytime if you use the app. i've been getting fill up boxes after 4pm for years.

  • I just want to know about this, https://mumbrella.com.au/kfc-brings-degustation-restaurant-t…

Like, do I wear a suit? Get champagne? How f'ing fancy are we going here.

    • April 1st.

  • Alright is this applicable with hot and spicy and which nsw stores do hot and spicy again.. I'm ready to wait one week.

Had a look at about 5 different kfcs near me in Perth and none of them had this deal

    • +2

Read the post it clearly states it's until 6pm

  • Yay for KFC! Colonel Harland Sanders is my food hero

  • is delivery available for this offer?

    • Yes, works with delivery but as usual it's a hefty delivery fee ($8.95)

  • Hmm isn't hot and spicy a regular menu item all year round? It is here in WA.

  • I'm based in NSW, and use the App mostly in that state.

However, I'm in VIC now, and I don't see this deal in the App.
Any ideas where to see this?

    ( I checked "Colonel's Offers" and it's not there)

    • +1

The offer disappears from the app after 6pm each night. Reappears in the morning.

  • +1

Saw this advertised at the start of a YT video. Fired up the app but the deal isn’t available. Damn you KFC why you gotta do me like this?! Probably for the best anyway.

  • I just checked app NSW 11.38am 21/3/22. No deal. What's the deal?? It is not listed at all.

    • Not in Newcastle as of 11:43am 21/3/22.

      • Let's give it time.
Nothing under Colonel's offer for me either. (NSW)

        • Still Nothing.

    • Might start tomorrow considering this deal started last Tuesday.

  • Nothing QLD.

    I'll post once it's available.

  • Looks like the deal is gone in VIC

    • it's back on now after 10am

  • +3

    Showing up in NSW YAY~ I don't care ~

    • +1

Can confirm showing up for me in NSW now.

    • Finally :)))

  • +2

A lot of individual stores in VIC declined to accept this citing supply issues when you can clearly see that they have chicken in stock. When questioned they will state that these are reserved for "full priced orders", so beware that you may run into issues redeeming this.

    • Wait what? Like they cancelled your order on the app?

      • Like they cancelled your order on the app?

        Can they do that?

    • +2

      which stores are they?
should have complained to their head office

    • Yeah I had stores that stopped checkout of the item before 6pm on a few occasions. Went to order something else and there were plenty of people complaining and some citing they had ordered 40+minutes ago and not having their check-in being acknowledged.

    • +2

Don't let scummy managers get away with this crap. KFC HO carefully considers and calculates these promotions for various reasons like bringing people back who haven't been for a while, to continue attracting people after the promotion ends, to create a positive experience from getting a bargain, etc - and these morons are bypassing it, hurting the franchise, and their own store.

Get on Facebook and complain both publicly mentioning the store, and via PM. Be polite but hard/indignant. Mention those points (chicken available but "reserved" (only selling to) "full paying" customers - and be sure to query is false advertising standard practice for KFC now? You'll probably receive a free $ voucher for that specific store and the "manager" will get an earful. Note the "manager" will probably phone you.

If they're going to circumvent the franchiser decisions they should surrender or lose the franchise. Hold them to account and the bad ones will either get fed up enough to leave themselves, or HO won't renew their option. If they want to go rogue they can go open their own damn chicken shop.

    • What?? So they take your money and refuse to acknowledge it? Do you even get a refund?!

  • confirmed for NSW, i can also see a $4.95 fill up original recipe box until 4pm in the 'limited time only' too

  • Yum spicy spicy. Chicken

  • Any way to change the original chicken to Zinger chicken in the app?

    • You can change to hot and spicy?

  • Is it only for today?

  • I also had a $6 off $10 spend on my app, extra value!

  • I've checked 3 sites in the lower Hunter - Nothing at Warners Bay, Bennetts Green, Kurri Kurri or Rutherford. Only the $4.95 deal and the Naked Zinger Box.
6 Pieces shows at $14.95 in Chicken section

    • Please Disregard, previous Post. It was in the Colonels Offers.

  • This is nothing compared to Korean Fried Chicken; pick any Korean FC in Sydney and they'll easily beat KFC

    • The Taiwanese Fried Chicken is good, except when they cook it in the same oil as Fish etc. There was a Youtube video last year comparing KFC ,Taiwanese Chicken v Korean wings around Sydney.

    • But not at this price, right? Korean stores are soooooo much more expensive piece for piece.

    • well KFC is nothing compare to RR

    • thanks for letting us know mr song

      • just raising awareness, that's all Jaz

    • lay off the soju mate, thx

  • I would rather eat Nandoos over this deep fried junk.

    • Last time we had Nandos, 1/2 the chips were raw inside.

      • You could have notified to the staff they would have given a new serve. When I eat nandoos if the preparation is not upto mark I notify them and they happily return and make a new one

    • but then you're comparing grilled vs fried, that is a a tad unfair

    • how much is nandos ?

      • $ 20 for a full chicken. Expensive but healthier

        • +1

If I want healthier I just roast my own chicken. I'm eating KFC for my mental health, not physical!

          • +1

@dust: KFC for mental health ha ha ha. A moment of silence for all the mental health nurses and doctors.

        • why not coles / woolie .. $11 full roast chicken

          • @dcep: Its just like difference between flying economy vs Business class.
