For most effective, spray directly at the source

    • What does it do to the duco?

I have used this product previously, found it no different to Dettol antibacterial wipes or Pine O clean wipes.
The main ingredients in all of them is benzalkonium chloride. Which kills most of the pathogens.
With Bowden’s Far Cough you double handle the product, firstly you spray on the cloth and then wipe on the surface. You need 2 to 3 microfiber cloths to get your interior cleaned and secondly at the end you need to wash the microfibre cloth separately. But if you have disposable wipes, you wipe it down and bin it, you are not carry the germs into your washing machine. So I switched back to wiping things down with disposable wipes.

    • You have to clean first to use the wipes tho

      • +1

Same with Far Cough, you have to clean the interior first before using this product. This only disinfects the interior. You need to use your regular products to clean first before using any product, let it be spray or wipes.

        • +1

I mean, you can clean it with the disinfectant right away, and do a second wipe when the surface is clean with the clean cloth side.

      • What is everyone’s go-to cleaning product for the dash? I’m not sure what to use on the plastics. Also, which is the best glass cleaner? I hate a windscreen that fogs up, and I can’t get mine clean and fog-free.

with dettol wipes - don't they leave a white residue?

      • They do if you scrub it, you have to go light handed. If you don't overlap the area you have cleaned, it will not not leave white residue. I have experience Far cough too leaves residue. Well at the end of the day there is no such thing as perfect product.

If you are that light, its probably not killing all the germs anyway

          • @MrFrugalSpend: You are not killing the germ by scrubbing it or going hard(using elbow grease). All it needs is contact with the solution. All it needs is a thin film of solution coating to kill the germs.

            • +1

@SteveD: Actually it needs a lot of the solution so as to stay wet for some minutes… contact time is critical so it has to be quite wet.
Wiping it away does also reduce the number of germs

              • @MrFrugalSpend: True, oh well if you put a lot of BAC solution it will degrade the plastic. Looks like there is no win win situation here:-)

The point is that the spray kills the germs on the surface and cloth. You aren't really carrying them back to your washing machine.

      • +2

You do carry their dead bodies to the washing machine though 😜

I have used this product previously, found it no different to Dettol antibacterial wipes or Pine O clean wipes.

Probably also no different than home brand disinfectant which is like $2 for 2L but people do get sucked into the marketing though.

  • Perfect timing for me; just getting a car back on the road which has been sitting for a while and has a bit of moldy smell in the interior.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • Another tip after you clean is to get some scented powder and rub it into the floor mats.

    • Moisture absorber bucket like damp rid locked in car overnight helps
Also use vinegar on mould not anti bac
