Seems crazy cheap all a sudden, most places have it at $400 give or take.
Brought mine close to $400 about 1.5 years ago and seems solid.
I recommend you pair it with an arm cause doesn't include one, I have it with the rode PSA1 arm.

Enjoy!

That price is insane, the interface is 179 by itself and the mic 279 - snagged one, thanks OP!

  • +3

GREAT deal, the black NT1 is considerably less harsh than the popular NT1-A too. I'd jump on this straight away if I wasn't already kitted out. At this already great price for just the mic, the interface is basically a free gift.

    damn, just missed out

  • This was a good deal

  • So what do you guys use this for?

    • I'm seeing more and more people use this in their home office setups for improved audio quality on Zoom/Teams/Webex calls.

      • -6
      • as a condenser mic, it will pick up everything in their house and the traffic outside, but at least their voice will be super loud and clear vs webcam mic.

And at that price, who gives a hoot, BUY BUY BUY!

        • is there a way to filer the outside noises with software? or impossible?

          • @WillKillfor5Cents: can reduce the sensitivity of the mic so less noises trigger it, but honestly when you are speaking it picks up everything anyway so it wont help much. If you're speaking and the TV is on behind you, its gonna pick all of it up.

You will need to learn how to use the mute button on and off, to prevent it from ever accidentally turning on.

          • @WillKillfor5Cents: If you have an NVIDIA GPU I find their nvidia broadcast software to do a pretty good job.

I don’t want people at work to hear what I’m saying. It’s usually just sarcastic comments and petty insults. I’m quite sure that the poor audio is the only thing that’s kept me in a job.

        • -1

          Mute?

        • The curse of upgrading to any better mic tbh, gotta keep your eyes on mute or start to keep the comments in your mind. :C

    Looks like its over

  • Can see the price but won't add to cart

  • Gawd damn this would have been amazing for me

  • +1

    Comes up as $429 now

  • Missed out…

  • damn this looks like it would have been fantastic deal

  • +2

Gone in the time I spent figuring out if it's for me.

  • That was crazy cheap! Too bad I missed out

  • Saw this the minute it was posted and was so tempted to buy it but I was looking for a dynamic mic

    • Mv7 has been amazing for me - blocks out every plbackgeound sound. Was $200 on sale so similar price to this.

    • MV7 best of the best of the well-priced USB dynamic mics. Only way to go further will require XLR and more equipment.

anyone in NSW who doesn't want it?!?!

I need this for song recording!

  • +8

Lucky I am late otherwise I would have bought something that I have absolutely no use for.

    • +7

I was not late, I have bought it - I'm assuming I can use this as some kind of completely over the top setup for zoom calls.. or I can leave it in the box as a paper weight.

  • +3

Was tempted but I didn't need. I'm even a musician with recording stuff and bla bla!

Don't buy stuff that you don't need/won't use everyone!

  • +2

Got the last one. Thanks OP. It was a good find. I am going to stream myself soon.

    • +2

48 minutes ago yoshi was sad they missed out…

Meanwhile, 19 minutes ago you got the last one LOL. They probably added stock online, lucky catch

Any recommendations for setups for 4 mics + piano + guitar?

  • +10

People need to stop buying overpriced brands, the internals of microphones haven't changed in decades all across the board. I die inside every time someone posts a 'deal' for a shure or rode.

It's equivalent to paying 2x for an Asus gpu rather than an evga/gainward/gigabyte gpu.

    Behringer c-1 condenser

    UMC22 interface

Tried and true combo. Any cheap boom arm will do and amazon basics xlr cable.

General rule of thumb is 10% of audio quality comes from mic, 30% from recording technique, 30% from recording environment, 30% from mixing/plugins.

I think when people are streaming and on cam they want people to see they are super serious pro streamers and have a Pop screen and a recognisable brand Mic.

"Oh you have a Rode! cool!"

95% I see people with Pop filters and their condenser mic off to their side probably just for looks and not the intended performance aspect.

Ps. Thanks for providing those links for people.

Not a professional anything but one additional opinion:

I recently purchased a Neewer NW-800 and Audio Technica AT2020.

For spoken voice (zoom, discord, OBS) agreed a lot of the "wow" comes from post if you bother to - raw input I couldn't really tell the difference unless I was really really focussing on it which most people won't be for those use cases.

The one part I did notice a bit of difference was ambient noise when recording guitar/piano and vocal - they both picked up the ambient but the AT2020 was much much better at isolating noise from behind/below/beside the mic whereas the NW-800 did pretty badly when there was another sound source.

Tl;DR if you're WFH, $25 Mic gonna be just fine.

Yep, this is the combo I use for my podcast (though I use the 4 channel interface, not the 2 channel). I even use the cheapest Mic arm (was $14 off ebay, something like this), have used it daily for over 5 years with zero issues. I record with Reaper (free) and use the included plugins.

Stop spending thousands for the Rogan set up. It's so unnecessary.

Edit: Hear the set up for yourself: https://youtu.be/auiuaMdBYEA

Thanks for sharing the YouTube link of the Behringer C-1 sample.

Went there just to hear a sample, but ended up listening to the whole video/podcast because it was quite an interesting discussion.

interface is not bad for a starter interface but the mic isn't as good you better off getting the interface and then getting a Podmic, and a mic arm. Much better quality mic than this one.

I found another kit with a decent discount. Might be helpful to someone. Rode NT1KIT Cardioid Condenser Microphone Package $279

    • +1

Just a note this is a XLR cable and not USB from what I can see.

    • +1

What Admira said - does not include the audio interface like the original deal does
