Samsung Odyssey G7 1440p 240Hz Curved Gaming Monitor: 27" $698 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

70

Cheapest ever as far as I can tell.

It seems to be discounted across many different stores including JBHIFI but unfortunately Harvey has the cheapest one.

You laughed at your own comment. Good one.

  • Aside from 240Hz, is this any better than the Dell IPS Gaming monitor that is so popular here? This seems VA with a higher refresh rate but comes with a higher price tag.

    • I have both. They're both good. This is top of the range in terms of VA.

I just use them side by side now.

It does have weird (profanity) loading times and shit. Autodetect and auto switch is also quite (profanity) on it. So it those small things shit you, don't get it

    • Better contrast, better response times overall, particularly where IPS is weakest (returning to black). There's a tiny bit of dark smearing (i.e. you have to go looking for it), but this would be the better 240Hz experience of the two.

  • Anyone got one? Just bought a 240Hz FHD LG Ultragear for my son for ~$550, but I could be tempted to upgrade to this if feedback is strong. :)

love mine, the curve is pretty aggressive though so wont be to everyone's taste but i got used to it pretty quickly.

I 'upgraded' from a flat panel HP Omen IPS 27i mostly for the refresh rate - the change in refresh was pretty noticeable for me

It's been flawless for the last 8 months or so and cant really fault the performance of it, HDR is awesome

  • Isn't this better after applying afterpay day code.

I have the 32 inch version. I do not recommend the 32 inch version. Poor quality. It also has some issues with scanlines occasionally appearing, flickering and noise in dark scenes, and really poor quality in comparison to other 1440p monitors.

I had Samsung look into it and it was a nightmare trying to get them to fix the issue. Support kept running me around in circles. They would go through all the troubleshooting steps, ask me if I've updated my graphics card drivers, ignore me for several weeks, then ask me if I've updated my graphics card drivers.

They even took it in for repair, replaced parts which didn't fix the issue, then the 3rd party repairer passed the details on to Samsung and told them they could replicate the issue but couldn't fix it, then Samsung contacted me saying, "have you tried updating your video card drivers"

    Useless support.

But I hear that they're not all bad. Some panels are good and apparently the 27 inch version is much better than the 32 inch version.

  • Are there any >= 27" 1440p gsync HDMI 2.1 monitors out there besides the EVE Spectrum?

  • Oof

I got one from samsung store. And the screen has 'degumming' on the top side after two months.

Well, at least the clips looks surprisingly good on it.

  • I don't know how to report on ozbargain that this special price has ended, and it's back up to $999.

    • Theres a report button under the tags.
