Although this watch has a Japanese and international code, SBDC053 and SPB053, they are one in the same from Japan.
A lot of watch for the money. A good quality finish and specs. The Diashield coating will keep it looking new for many years. Although it does wear every bit of its 43mm, which is why this watch has not been more popular. I have the original MM200 that was released at the same time and although it’s 44mm, it wears like a 42mm. The 6R15 movement has an increased power reserve over the run of the mill 4R movements.
it always annoyed me that blue only came with rubber, where the 51/black has the bracelet
Nice classic style but I really feel like it needs the case enlarged to protect the crown a little bit. I'm so used to seeing watches that have that protection in the design this one looks kinda exposed makes me feel a little awkward about it.
That being said I really love the classic diver style watch with an automatic movement.It's a loose homage to the Seiko 62MAS, which has no crown guards. If you look through the Seiko catalogue, they have many watches with crown guards.
