Not a bad price, but is a 2 year old phone

Still should perform fine for 90% of users out there. Of course depends on what you mainly do with your phone, but the phone as a whole isn't incompetent by any means.

With commbanks $20 off goes to $459

I'm thinking of not using Kogan any longer.
I purchased a 12-month phone plan on Feb 24th which included 12 months of 1st membership.

I have contacted them but still don't have the membership, so I miss out on the savings.
Total waste of time contacting their support.

      Did you call them?
Their online response time can be sketchy at best.

      • Yes, they told me to simply wait. Bloody hopeless support

Vague warranty terms, and no VoLTE/VoWiFi on Telstra…

    • I believe Volte and vowifi config for telstra can be loaded following instructions on xda developers. I have done this with my oneplus 6 and it has worked fine for me for a couple of years.

"What advantages does this telephone have over, say, a payphone?… Which I could also afford."

  • Will Kogan ship this time?

As a previous OnePlus 7 pro owner, I'd steer clear of OnePlus for now.

Their future is a bit up in the air and while they used to have spectacular software updates - it's dropped to some of the worst. Oneplus is now dedicated to their Nord lineup of phones which are designated for India and SE Asia.

I loved that OP 7 Pro but it just got so buggy with updates and was so annoying to not be able to use WoWifi or VoLTE.

    • As a OnePlus 7 Pro user for nearly two years I've been giving the exact same advice to people - steer clear. I've had a number of OP phones over the years and have absolutely loved them, but since the 7Pro got Android 11 it's been really buggy and lame. Android 10 was excellent.

    • Looks like Android 12 has just started rolling out to the OnePlus 8 in the last couple of days. For comparison, the Google Pixel received it in Oct 2021.

    Title say

    OnePlus 8 (8GB RAM, 128GB, Interstellar Glow)

    Description say

12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage

    Which is it?

    • Thanks for pointing it out. Just about to pull the trigger…
      I think it is 8+128 then…so doggy…

  • You'll probably struggle to get VoWifi and VoLTE

  • Surely you'd just get a Poco F3 and pocket the difference?

I'm guessing the camera on the OnePlus would be better at night time, but… I dunno, seems like splitting hairs at this point.

Get the newer phone, save your money, and be happy that the F3 has sold so many units that it's going to have custom ROMs coming out for a good few years at least once MIUI stops updating…

  • Good feedback. Was wondering about Xiaomi Vs OnePlus reputation.

  • it doesnt show the model variant but going by the listed frequency bands (if listing is accurate) then it looks like this is the IN2013 (EU) variant.
if this is a IN2013, 4G bands should be good but not all 5G bands are going to be supported here regardless of model variant.

if you buy check the phone if its the correct model.
theres reports of people receiving T-Mobile single SIM versions/
