    Do these off-brands generally work? I bought a generic cheapie off eBay (3 meters) but despite it being a short cable, the Oculus windows software won't pass any cable tests when I perform a diagnostic test.

      Off-brands sometimes work, but I guess you could give it a try since it's fulfilled by Amazon. Could always return it if it never meets expectation

      kiwi design is quite reputable.
      just read the reviews - mostly okay. i think the bad ones are written by teenagers who dont know much about pc

          Yes. Many of the link cables are USB2.
