[SA] Tradfri Remote Control $12 (RRP $19) in-Store @ IKEA (Adelaide)

140

Bought a few of these today. Great price and plenty of stock.

Not sure if it’s South Australia store only or nation wide.

Happy automating!

  • Looks like you need to invest on the gateway
You can use TRÄDFRI gateway and IKEA Home smart app to create several groups of light sources and control them in different ways.

    Also

Can only be used with IKEA Smart lighting products.
The remote control works with TRÅDFRI LED bulbs, FLOALT LED light panels and TRÅDFRI driver for wireless control.

So it's basically an alternative to Philips smart devices?

90% of users would use Home Assistant with a zigbee stick.

    • Maybe worth adding to the OP:
      Wireless dimmer
      Was $14.99 now $10

      • Been $10 for at least 2 months.

      • Wasn't it $15 for a kit with that and a warm-white bulb, for a long time?

I have one of these and all you need is one of their dimmable bulbs.

    • No hub needed. Can connect direct to Zigbee bulbs, including Philips Hue.

Can even use with colour bulbs to cycle between a few pre-set colours.

    • Can use it with SmartThings as well.

  • $19 on website. May be SA only or in-store only.

    • Yeah I’ve tried to upload picture of deal in store but struggling :(

      • Upload to here and then copy and paste the link into the deal description.

        • Thanks

Yes. I’m using with Home Assistant and the Zigbee CC2531 dongle. No hub required and can use multiple vendors (Philips, Tradfri, Xiaomi, etc)

    • Noob question. Do you just plug the dongle to any available powered USB port (on the router for eg) or do you need to pair it with a raspberry?

      • +2

I believe it needs to be plugged in directly to the device running the software you’ll be using. I’m using a raspberry pi running home assistant with the zigbee2mqtt add on

Looks like this thing might play the new Kanye album
