How to Setup Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub Modem with More nbn FTTP?

Hello, does anyone know how I could setup Vodafone’s NBN modem for More Telecom nbn. Swapped to them earlier today and my service was activated an hour ago but can’t seem to get it working.

If anyone has swapped providers and is using Vodafone’s NBN modem, help would be appreciated.

Can you open the admin page?

  • You dont say what sort of connection you have.

Also call more, they will tell you what modems work with what type of NBN connection you have.

I found out the two modems I have - ex Optus and an Ex TPG wont work. So I had to get an exTelstra smart modem to work with More. More on FTTN use authentication which cant be modified on the TPG and Optus modems. (at least on the models I have)

Generally NBN FTTP doesnt need authetication so will work, FTTN with More does

Likewise as PissLUR says you willneed to be able to access the admin page. Usually details are on bottom of modem.

All nbn connections use the authentication protocols IPoE, PPPoE or PPPoE with a VLAN ID.

      • Really - With FTTP in our house we just connect via an ethernet cable and it works. When we change providers we just switch the ethernet cable to another UNID port on the NBN box. And it works.

NEVER ever had to put in password or account number.

Likewise with others who have FTTP. Maybe you have some different FTTP connection, ours has been like that for around 8 years or so.

        • I have nbn FTTP. All the ISPs you have changed to so far are using the IPoE protocol. IPoE protocol allows you to get connected automatically without requiring your ISP account credentials.

I really really hate to suggest this, but Whirlpool is a better place to find people with this sort of knowledge than OzBargain.

    1. Open your browser of choice (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
    2. Type in the IP address that is on back side of the Vodafone modem (IP address maybe 192.168.1.1).
    3. Type in the Vodafone modem password to login.
    4. Look for the settings page, WAN, ethernet WAN.
    5. Edit the connection to PPPoE and enter your More Telecom username & password that you received by email.
    6. Save changes.
    7. Logout.
    • My connection is fttp, I’ve tried that yesterday but nothing happens, the internet light is green but keeps blinking and have no connection

      • Sometimes you have to move the ethernet cable plugged into nbn fibre NTD. Did More Telecom tell you to use UNI-D1, UNI-D2, UNI-D3, UNI-D4?

Thanks for the help, fix ended up being something simple. I had checked the uni d thing yesterday as well but today I decided to turn off the nbn box on the wall and that fixed it. Yesterday I had only restarted the modem not the nbn box

  • @Twix ,
Thanks for your inputs. I too have a vodafone DMA0120vha router and have recently moved over to More FTTP. But since I already have a FTTC More said that they will first move over the connection as FTTC first and then later install FTTP as my address doesn't have it. Now I got an email from more ( on a saturday evening) with the user name and password saying there will be another email for activation . However I lost my connection all of a sudden and left with no internet. I have added the username and password to WAN settings- ethernet username and password. Have logged out and logged in . Nothing happens. It's a weekend and there is no support as well. can you help please!!

    • I can't do anything. More Telecom has to activate your service on their side.

@Twix A year on from your reply and it saved my day! I just switched to More from vodafone and they weren't able to help me, but I followed your instructions and it worked! I was able to reach the IP address dashboard from my mobile phone!

    • Good to hear!
