Just a warning, a 42Wh battery is too small for most people wanting a portable laptop.

What are they going to get out of standard use ? is the 10 hour mark a Pipe Dream ?

      • Sorry to break it to you but yup, you're not getting 10 hours of use out of this laptop.

I got two laptops at home with similar specs which I can compare:
        Ryzen 7 4800U (52Wh) - 6-7 hours

        Ryzen 7 4800HS (76Wh) - 4-9 hours

When comparing a Ryzen 5 4500U (42Wh) it's clear to see 10 hours isn't possible here… Unless idling for the full 10 hours with minimum screen brightness and all programs & services closed.

      • Hahahahaha

        I have a previous gen of this, i5 8250u .. lucky to get 2 hours ..

      • I comes down to how you use it. I have Zen 2 4800u series, and Zen 3 5800u based laptops with 50wh+ batteries. Setting the screen brightness to 60% on 400nit screens, I get about 9 to 11hrs for Office and web browsing in balanced usage mode.

  • Great price for a great laptop, looks like hard to find stock in Sydney.

  • Zenbook would be preferable for build quality but this is a decent price

  • Great post, but missing the key laptop spec…Weight?
    Seems like a great deal

I did a search as I was comparing it with my post more than 1 year ago, I bought a non touch version with zenbook with weight 1.13 kg. This one is 1.5 kg.

  • Have to agree, I have with AMD Ryzen 3, the battery does not last long either…

    • What's the brand, CPU model and battery capacity of the laptop you are using?

  • Doesn't seem to be stock within 200km of any capital city so probably only the odd regional store left.

Hobart had stock when I checked before posting.

      • You're right, Hobart seems to be the only store I can find stock (as in 7000 not TAS)

Was plenty more when it was posted.

  • Unable to get stocks.

None available within 200 kilometres of postcodes 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000…….but available in Hobart!!

    maybe in title hobart only?

    Can't even get it delivered

The deal has been up for an hour and a half and is now listed as low stock when it wasn't before. Clearly a lot of stock has now sold.

Goneski like the reforms that vanished into fat air

  • I have the 4700U variant of this and can say that the battery life isn't the best, but I wouldn't say it's horrible either. Having said that, if I have a long day I do chuck it into power saving mode and plug it in if I'm really hammering it for a while.

    • I have the 4700U version as well. I find the screen a bit dim.
