Google Pixel 6 Cellular Connection Dropout Issue

The frustrating issue I have experienced for the past few months with my Google Pixel 6 has intermittent cellular network dropouts.
The phone completely loses network connection. It shows an exclamation mark in the top right corner and during this time no calls can be made or received and there's no data connectivity either.

Either it will randomly come back or a reboot gets it connected again.

I googled this issue and found many others with the same issue with the Google Pixel 6 which apparently started since a Dec or Jan android update.

I've contacted Google support and they asked me to do a network reset and other basic steps none of which have helped. I've replaced my sim card (Amaysim) just in case that was the issue. I sent them a few bug reports and eventually they have said I can send it back to Google for a replacement.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with their Pixel 6?
I'm worried I spend all the effort to get it replaced and could still have the issue again especially if it's a software issue.

UPDATE: The Google RMA process wanted.me to send it to Hong Kong which I guess would take ages. I read horror stories online of constant delays of up to 2 months!
Today I instead took it back to JB hifi. Since it was outside their 90 day replacement period they have sent it to a third party repairer to be assessed/repaired. I tried to push for an on the spot replacement but they wouldn't seem to budge and said this is their policy to at least have the fault assessed.

Yep, same issue here - the Mar 2022 update improved it though!

    Mar 2022 update notes: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/153884074/googl…
General improvements for network connection stability & performance

The one that really annoys me, run your battery flat and you lose your finger print scanner / setup - requires a complete device factory reset to fix!

PS. These reason are why I now use OnePlus 10 Pro for daily driver, Pixel 6 is now my backups backup :P

    • Thanks for letting me know it's not just me.
I'm not noticing much of an improvement with the March update.

Didn't know about the fingerprint issue, I suppose I never let it run completely flat.

  • I ended up taking it back to JB Hi and with a bit of back and forth they eventually agreed to give me a replacement. I haven't had any issues on the replacement phone.
