Any reason to steer clear of "carrier" Version?
Was thinking about getting this one.Yes, because carrier version ROM does not sync to the manufacturer's ROM release schedule , every security release requires the carrier themselves to sign off to push the update
this means you are likely to be getting security updates behind the release schedule
and the concern is, if the carrier no longer signs off for it, you won't get any further updates simply because the carrier dropped itdon't think Oppo provides unlock access to switch ROM neither
so this is worth the considerationThanks buddy. Understood.
With the Find X2 Pro, you could quite easily switch from the carrier variant updates over to the standard variant so that you didn't have to wait 6 months or more for the latest update. Not sure if it is just as easy on the X3 though.

My wife has this phone and it is great but the free dictation feature of the pixel might away me towards that.
And Google backup all your text and phone call data for you for free, without you even knowing. How nice of them ;)

I'm looking to upgrade from p30 pro also, the Find X5 series was recently released in China. I might look into that when it arrives in Aus, but wouldn't be this price though

i bought this phone from previous ebay sale. Battery life is horrible. Super charge is the best I've used though.
