Got one in the bedroom. Really useful for the Google integration. The biggest downfall in my opinion is the clock is too bright at night...

I got the Seagate 16 TB last week and can say that you get all the various power clip-ons for the power with that one.

depends if it soft or hard retired. if soft, it goes in cupboard for exactly as you've mentioned. if hard, it gets zeroed and sold.
