The store attendant said this one is under lock and key, as KMart's most valuable and premium handset. Really.?

I wonder if the esim is not locked?

4GB RAM is very rough in this economy.
I bought one for my mom a while ago and now whenever I touch it, I feel like I did her dirty :( . Minimum 8GB RAM to be usable imo.
@deplepxep
What does too little RAM do (or not do)?
I've always had good amounts of RAM on my phones but my other half is hooked to Samsung, and their new (2025) very popular A-series phones have 4GB (A16 & A17 - latter released a couple of months ago!), 6GB (A36), and only the top of the series (RRP $700) A56 has more than 6GB (it has 8GB).
Other half is desperate to upgrade from a four year old A21s but only because the end of updates means they cannot access her work apps. Was going to get the A36 at $300 until I pointed out the RAM, but the A56 is double the price and otherwise over-specced for her needs.

Who would get this when unlocked Pixel 7 256GB is available for $249?

I would get the pixel, but it is nearly double the price.

but Pixel also has double storage (256GB), double RAM (8GB), OLED screen, IP67 rating, better camera and arguably better build quality.

Agreed, but if you only have $140 then it might as well be the latest iPhone.

Yep buy once only cry once.

Cant recommend Motorola unfortunately. I know its not the same model but I bought a G54 at the beginning of the last year. Worked OK for a while but every software update introduced lag/bugs in a different area. First, the screen would randomly freeze after trying to unlock it, it would be stuck on lock screen and I needed to use power button to turn screen on and off several times to fix. Then the app drawer would open when tapping the icon but everything would be invisible, so it appeared unresponsive but tapping the screen would open whatever app would normally be in that place in the app drawer. The side access menu then started taking 3-4 seconds to open after swiping, negating the whole purpose of it (quick access to regularly used apps). The coating on the macro lens (and only the macro lens) wore off and now is unusable as it is extremely blurry. Swiping left or right on home screens often doesn't work for 3-4 seconds until it catches up.
Had it less than two years and I am looking to change, previously I have kept phones for 5-6 years.

Would be a good budget phone if not for the Unisoc chip powering it.

what version of android ?

I'm currently using this phone as I recently broke my Pixel 7 Pro and we had this as a burner for a recent overseas trip. It's okay for $140 (we paid just under $200 for it in the UK) but is not a good phone. Laggy, unresponsive touchscreen with a terrible and slow camera. As soon as I find a good Black Friday deal on a new Google phone, I'm ditching the G35.

Network locked I assume.
