[eBay Plus] Xiaomi IMILAB EC2 Wire-Free Outdoor Camera X2 & Gateway $97.60 Delivered @ Ninja.buy

Requires ebay plus to apply the coupon

cheaper than previous deals

Was looking at adding 2 sets of these around the back area of our house as there is some parts too far to realistically add access to mains.

Battery lasts up to** 120 days - ymmv, as my wired xiaomi cameras are pinging notifications at least 8-10 times an hour as we get a lot of traffic at front door.
IP66 and you use the mihome app to review and watch feeds.
I dont think xiaomi ever fixed the google home assistant streaming feature after that big security issue some years back.

Apparently ninja.buy = pcbyte - so slightly more reliable source than other no name importers/suppliers carrying xiaomi gear.

  • has anyone used these indoors?
or recommend any battery operated indoor cams?
    thanks in advance

    • If it was indoors I would just use the standard xiaomi cameras as they can rotate and tilt. They are approx $50 before coupons and dont need a gateway.
You can also splash out for the newer 2k ones for better res.

You can also look at imou ones (budget dahua) - but there is no free cloud storage (you can just save it to micro sd) - they are closer to around $40 (I just bought 2 of the outdoor ones for $33 each for front of the house in lieu of doorbells).

      My ccp case officer: shudder

  • What is the real battery life? Anyone uses this camera?

And how do I charge it? Do I need to take the whole camera off for charging? Thanks.

You'll have to take the camera off and go inside and charge with USB.

      • Thanks evildog.

Overall, for the price like this, is a decent camera for basic security, unless you pay for a more expensive one which can do recording 24 hrs. This camera is good for back yard and garage etc, which you will have less people coming in and out. For more busier areas, I would suggest to buy something can do 24hrs recording not like this just records 30secs clips.

  • I installed since 09/03/22 at 100% power and is 19days past, the camera still have 80% power. The only problem I find is that can't recording all the time, it can only take 30secs max per clip and the phone gets the notifications (sometimes delayed)

  • There's a reason these have become so cheap. Don't do it peeps

    • Can you shed some light as to why? Lagging issues etc?!

      • Everytime this device is listed lately I've responded. Just search EC2 and read all my comments about this trash. No lagging issues at all

        • Cheers, I'll avoid
