Dewalt 5.0ah 18V XR Brushless Combo Kit - 2 Piece $279 + Free Shipping to Metro @ Mitre 10

440

Saw this awesome deal, normally priced at $299.

Bunnings had similar Makita driver&drill combo sale at $259 two weeks ago.

However, DeWalt looks better!

  • I have some 12V Dewalt tools which have been good for what I need, but I always thought Makita/Bosch were more professional/trade quality than Dewalt?

      Dewalt make some solid kit.

I'm in the DeWalt eco system but I do want a ryobi scarifier!

I switched out from Bosch Blue 12v range so I could borrow tools from my mate to do some concrete/brick/woodwork stuff…he's a tradie with DeWalt gear.

    • I once asked the tradie worked for me. He chose Makita simply because he can borrow battery from his mates.

      • there is now a lot of stuff made by companies other than makita that use makita batteries check ebay , things like brushless routers and 1/2” impact guns drills and circular saws, so buying into makita ecosystem gives you access to 3rd party skins ….haven’t seem 3rd parties make drills saws or routers for dewalt or ryobi or bosch batteries.

    • DeWalt is generally more expensive and has less tradie starter packs, but they're quality kit. They're more popular with tradies in America where the cost differential is less.

They lost a bit of ground to Milwaukee through a delay in moving to lithium, but their batteries are great now.

      • I used to live in America working in a trade nearly 15 years ago and at least back then Dewalt was what everyone wanted. I knew one guy who had a set of old Makita corded tools he kept as a backup to his Dewalt cordless, but aside from that I wasn't too familiar with the brand. This was before lithium tools had hit the market, though.

      • I'm aware of at least one emergency service thats moved entirely to Milwaukee, recently. For reasons.

    • All brands have premium and less premium models. Plenty of professionals use dewalt.

$20 saving on something that normally costs $299?
    Hardly awesome is it?

    • +1

      6.7% off if that helps…

    • if you can get the same item from another supplier sometimes loyalty points need to be considered, just tools have them as does total tools ….. if it’s an exclusive set that makes it trickier to squeeze extra value based on who you buy from as only supplier might have the bundle …… but yeah if you don’t need it now $20 off isn’t a vast saving off $300 if you don’t need it this week, and there will be a makita or bosch bundle again, a few weeks ago bunnings price matches someone and it was 20% off makita …. depends when you need it ………

Lol, is this what happens when people don't say "First time poster, please be gentle"?

  • Can't speak for the deal but these are the drills I use. Solid gear. Decent battery included too

  • +1

Actually, looking at the model numbers this stuff seems old..

    I'm on a dcd796 drill and dcf887 driver

If in store, just check the supplied battery, it will quickly tell you how long its been sitting there.

DeWalt recently flogged the dcd796 for free as a redemption, so to buy the dcd795 is a bit strange

people need to look at the exact model numbers and specs in these bundles …… no all drills are the same and companies make more than one model, and the same for impact drivers, most companies. are more then one …… and it’s the same when comparing to other brands, look at the specs for torque, etc.

  • Will compliment the DeWalt oscillation multi tool from few days ago.

    • Changed my mind

      • How was the Dewalt MultiTool, I am tossing between Dewalt MultiTool and the Makita one, I have much more Makita tools and just 2 nail guns Dewalt with 1 battery?
Why changed your mind about the drills?

  • Hikoki do a nice set for $299, includes a fast charger

  • Much rather Costco pack for $339.
You get a bag, 2 4ah batteries, hammer drill and Costco service

    • what's in the Costco kit ….. I'm not with Costco but that might be the tipping point for me to join , i's rather 2x 4 ah than 1x 5 ah providing the drill and driver are as good as or better then the mitre 10 deal.
