Can nbn Be Reactivated at a Property after 4 Months of Being Disconnected?

Hello,

Will NBN reconnect at my house easily after 4 months of being disconnected?

I have a lot of Belong data I need to use up in the next few months. I'm thinking of cancelling my FTTC NBN (currently with Tangerine) for 3-4 months until the data is used up. Then I will reconnect with NBN again.

Is this possible? Has anyone done something similar before?

Thanks

Zah

Yes, since you already have a working NBN connection.

No. No internet for you. Ever.

yep, they will have to relay cables, will take years before u get nbn again. cost a couple of million too

      • Scotty: More copper lines you say?

    • OP had one chance and they blew it. You only get one shot at the title.

Yes, I cancelled NBN then switched to 5G for 6 months then back to NBN. No issues or fees.

    FTTN NBN type.

    • No issues or fees.

Did a tech need to visit the property to re-jumper some connections? I'm wondering how this works in an apartment building, where the nbn techs always f*** up someone's connection every time they vist.

  • Thanks everyone. Y'all made my day!

  • The easiest way to cancel is just to tell them you are leaving the country, that way you don't get transferred to the hard upsell / retention people. But yes it's easy to do.

Some people here churn every 3 months.

    • Thank you! I am on hold on the phone with Tangerine now. I'll say exactly this.

  • No they dig up the cables after you cancel it, sorry.

  • FTTC is NBN. Belong data for Mobil phone? Belong data for broadband 4G? Belong data for NBN FTTC?

    • Now - NBN FTTC with Tangerine
Tomorrow - 4G Belong Mobile Data
In 4 months - NBN FTTC with probably Tangerine again since they said they can give the 6 month discount again

      I hope that makes sense.

      • Sure is possible, but it may take a few days for the RSP/NBN to activate the line in 4 months time.

Good luck with the 6 month discount.

  • Wouldnt a 2 minute phone call have got your answer? or 30 second google?

Couldn't find anything on NBN's FAQ, and the Tangerine rep did not give me a clear answer.

It doesn't seem easy to google, and OP would probably have to wait on hold for more than an hour to maybe get connected to a customer service person who has no idea

As always post on OzB 1st. Thanks OP.

  • If you are talking about the planet earth, then should be able to get it.
