Not a bad unit, but doesn't run when plugged into power, so you have to wait until battery is recharged if it goes flat. Will eventually mod mine to have a switch to bypass battery and run directly off 12v source.

Totally agree. Pain in the arse to have to wait to recharge once it goes flat.

      • The Kmart description mentions nothing about a rechargeable built in battery - so you're saying this won't run if you plug into a car lighter power supply?

        • Yeah. The device only runs off the in built battery. So if it's flat, you can't plug in to run. That's only to recharge the device.

    • have one of these, excellent little device. charges a kayak without problem and also tested it on 2 air mattresses when camping.

      • Pumps a kayak

          Recharges air in a kayak

        • Get that tingly feeling when I paddle.

          • @clintdb: Better get that checked out. Surely there is a cream or pill you may need to take for that.

  • My order just got refunded :-(

  • any review/thoughts on the "ANKO Mini Air Compressor with Light"?

Yep I got one when clearance was $40. It's okay. Fine for bikes, balls and occasional car top up. It's only about 25 Litres per minute. There are 4 shiny bars around it (2 on each side) that seem to do nothing but rattle loudly when it operates. I do a lot of 4x4 driving so we let tyres down and have to repump often, so it's a bit slow for that when other blokes are using their 160 Litre per minute or 300 Litre per minute compressors. Testosterone aside, fine for regular home use. Light is neat function for using at night I guess.

      • thanks that's some good info. should cover my use case. I also noticed this device can only be plugged into the cigarette lighter

I am still using my Audew Air inflator. Going very strong (only had to use it like 4 times)
Been very good and so company. I think i paid around $23 ish on eBay pre covid.

  • Any chance the mini Air compressor will work for seating tubeless road bike tyre?

    • No idea about bicycle tyres, but these things don't put out air at a very fast rate, so I wouldn't could on it. You can get a much faster flow rate with a manual floor pump - but that requires you to do it yourself.

  • Thanked OP. Ordered one of each.
