  • Thanks for the notification Steve. I wonder can someone help me with queries…

My Aunt would be interested in this Credit Card, but I have no experience of MoneyBackCo to offer her any advice. I just had a quick read of the T&Cs there, and they seem to take the first $10 as an admin fee? Is that correct?

I see that BuckScoop have the same $40 offer, but I don't think they take any fees, so would my Aunt be better using BuckScoop?

    • Hi,

If your Aunt is only interested in a credit card then maybe BuckScoop would be the way to go, however if she's interested in other online shopping then MoneyBackCo offers are at least as good if not much better than BuckScoop, for example:

      DealsDirect - BuuckScoop (3.75%), MoneyBackCo (5%)
      OO.com.au - BuckScoop (4.15%) , MoneyBackCo (6%)
      dStore - BuckScoop (5.6%), MoneyBackCo (8%)
Virgin Mobile - BuckScoop (up to $14.50), MoneyBackCo (up to $21)
      etc…

You only pay the membership fee annually (from your earnings) so if you're doing lots of online shopping then in the long run you'll be better off with MoneyBackCo. But obviously I'm biased :-)

    • DorsVenabili,

Yes it is correct that MoneyBackCo is taking the first $10 moneyback as annual membership fee, as its business model is to give back 100% on all commission payouts (most other cashback networks work on 50%-75% basis, except for EmailCash which is even less).

The $40 moneyback offer is through DGM, and I think the commission is $40 — so it appears that BuckScoop is giving back 100% on this particular merchant. Good on them!

Well, as you might already know that OzBargain is teaming up with MoneyBackCo to provide moneyback from the merchants that pay commission to affiliates, so the business side of me would say "Go with MoneyBackCo!!"

Then again BuckScoop is giving back the same amount without need to pay annual membership fee, so the bargain-hunting side of me would say… Hmm, you decide :)

Edit: Steve beat me to it.

  • LOL Thanks for the help guys. I've just read the articles on ozbargainblog about you guys teaming up. Actually when I posted above, I didn't realise Steve was from MoneyBackCo.

Well, I'll pass the info on to my Aunt (I have too many credit cards on the go, to even think about this offer!). I might recommend she uses a combination of both sites, to see what works out the best deal for her in the long run.
