[QLD] U91 Petrol $1.589/L, Diesel $1.759/L @ Metro Capalaba

420

Saw this on the road and pretty good price for filling up.

Mod: Unsure if this is another Metro advertised price drop or a drop part of the regular fuel cycle, left as deal due to benefit of the doubt.

    • Checked the fuel map and found Kuraby Metro U91 used to show 91c in about 5min and then back to 1.589
Guess they wrongly inputed ULP into the price tab

    • Where did you see diesel that cheap?

    • +1

      But it is cheaper?

      • Yes, when you include delivery or click & collect.

Was this price since last Thursday and was lucky to get in before the long lines. Glad they have kept the price as Diesel is still quite high everywhere else.

Still not a good reason to go to Capalaba.

As someone who has to regularly deal with 3 different councils; I'll take Redlands any day, over its neighbour councils.

      • +2

As someone who lives in the Redlands, I look on in envy at all the updated facilities and so on other councils have.

        • Thats so personal though.
When I want to go to a playground, the redlands has literally a dozen or so within range. Sure they're old, but they're there, and they're usually litter free.
I also find a great deal more electric barbeques well maintained in Redlands, and things like river-walks and trails are graded MUCH more often than most BCC trails.
Quite a few parks even have some outdoor rated powerpoints around; so when I want to 'work from home', in the park; battery isn't a concern.

As I said, it's totally personal, but I'll take plentiful, and well maintained older facilities, over crowded and often dirty new facilities any day.

The biggest downfall of Redlands, is whomever is in charge their traffic control.
Even with near NO cars on the road, and being sure to keep as humanly possible 'right on' the speed limit; you can still hit red-lights
They absolutely need to spend a few grand, and take the time to re-plan the lights through Capalaba and Alex Hills at a minimum.

          • @MasterScythe: Our sporting facilities are awful, no sports center, a pool which is dilapidated, the worst skate parks in SEQ.

Parks are hit and miss, foreshore areas are pretty shyte on the whole.

And traffic, yes it is the worst.

What type of chopper do you have? Haven't seen one that low to the ground before…

The only stations with helipads are 7-11's. I believe OP left it at home and chose to travel by car

  • any thoughts on Brisbane price cycle, technically we are towards the end as it's been 3+ weeks but with the drop in duty & fall in oil price who knows, trying to time filling up

    • Prices will stay high until after Easter. Good luck.

It was funny how the news were saying "look, the cut in the fuel excise has taken effect", when actually this is just the low end of the price cycle.. The excise cut will probably take a couple of weeks to kick in.. by that time we will be back to the high part of the cycle and we probably won't notice any change..

    • Being school hols, the high should have started. But there are 3 long weekends coming up in a row (Easter, Anzac, Labour Day), so maybe they're getting ready to go high in a week or so.

I expect they'll drop conveniently around the election time to help their mates get back in. There's no reason for price cycles, except profiteering.

I think this is the only country in the world that does fuel price cycles, also bottle shops with ever changing prices for the same items

    • We can see the excise drop at the wholesale level between Tuesday and Thursday last week, and there also is a slow downtrend in the wholesale price (see https://www.aip.com.au/pricing/terminal-gate-prices). The new bottom is now around the 155 to 160 mark. It will be interesting how the retailers deal with this given the timing, will they do a rapid catch up to the bottom (as we are seeing in this post) and hike again for Easter, or will they just drag out the current cycle.

      • the last price cycle flatlined at the bottom for almost 2 weeks I suspect they'll do that again then spike for Easter / long weekends

  • There's been a big line outside this place almost every time I've driven past recently. Good price for regular unleaded.
Not as heavily discounted if you need premium fuel.

  • U91 has gone down to 162 for 7-11 so not exactly the best deal but still good

Not in Queensland or the east coast.
I'm not taking my chopper west in case Mark shuts the border.

      • Funny you say that coz QLD has actually got the cheapest in all 7-11s😅
