Is that one delorean or 3 included

    • One Delorean but has 3 different builds

    • +6

Aah, modern day. Where it's considered faster to type than read/click the link.

      Millennial afflictions?

      • -8

Yeah. The modern day where people get upset by the simplest things and can’t just ignore them. But instead they have to make a comment which they wouldn’t have the balls to say when face to face.

Hermit keyboard warrior syndrome affliction ?

        • +7

ASSumptions. I tell my reports and kids when they ask something they can answer themselves. I do it in an encouraging way. It helps empower/train them into thinkers.

Is your affliction being prone to generalisation? ;p

PS: why do you assume I'm upset?

        • The first step is admitting to your problems.

      • +1

This is very little to do with generational difference and more to do with how lazy social media (including forums) has made people.

  • +9

It's RRP, no bargain here. These will be much cheaper when they hit the chain stores soon.

  • +7

It will come back in stock eventually, and will probably hit retail in a few months with actual discounts on offer.

  • 3 Different builds = must buy 3!

    • +1

Don't know why you're getting downvotes, a lot of people will be buying 3 so they can display all 3 builds at once.

  • +13

This isn't OzRRP - buying into this hype just gives scalpers the opportunity to gouge. No.

    • +4

Yeah, like people paying $110 on ebay for sets that are still on sale at Big w/Myer etc for $70. It amazes me how stupid people are and how much money they have to waste.

    • Exactly to the point. Good things are always worth some waiting. I used to be like that but not any more after I received my OZB badge.

    • This isn't OzRRP

      Could have fooled me

  • +3

Pretty sure it was available on the main AU store for a while until posts like this and the linked article start circling around, e.g. FOMO from induced hype.

    • Yeah, I placed an order last week for one, then 5 mins later the wife said buy another so I did… 1st order has shipped but the second order hasn't so not sure if I'll get both or not.

Edit: status of second order is:
      In Warehouse

Your order is getting ready to ship from our warehouse. We won’t be able to cancel or make any changes to your order now.

    • It was available for at least a while on first day. Then i stopped looking (i needed a purchase to use a vip coupon that was expiring anyway).

The problem is the restock times are SO long.

      • The problem is the restock times are SO long.

True, but those who wants it day 1 should’ve bought on day 1.
I definitely want one but happy to wait for a decent discount later down the track, bought my Ecto 1, Blacksmith and other ‘exclusive at launch’ for 20% off and will likely do the same with this.
I can’t remember any set that sold so well that there was no restocks whatsoever.

RRP is not bargain. Like others said, stock will be back.

  • +1

Definitely not a bargain. Walked passed Lego before, they had close to a dozen in the shop. Pretty sure they would of had a few at the back also.

  • So this will hit the retail stores?? Is there any way of checking which sets will go retail eventually (even though marked exclusive on lego's site)

    • +1

Look at historical data. Vast majority go to retail. Don't buy into lego's "exclusive" tag on their webstore - they aren't even accurate.

A YouTuber (BriQ Foundation?) said that this was scheduled for a June or July retail release.

  • I think there just needs to be a new tag for these kind of posts "High Demanded item in stock" tag or something so people who dont find RRP deals a bargain can just filter it out.

  • -2

ebay is listing this for around $350, and it's actually selling fast.

Say what you want about scalping, but it is totally legal

    • +2

I wouldn't bother selling it for $350 lol. That's only $80 minus fees and postage.

For an individual, postage $40 and fees 13% add up to more than that. $40+13%×(350+40)=$90

Unless those listings are plus post.

Without free FVF or a high volume shop with a package, the fees are exorbitant.

    • +1

Legal doesn't mean morally correct, being realistic about this a big percentage of these were most likely scooped up by bots or resellers with the sole intention of reselling them at a profit, taking advantage of people that actually want them, unfortunately the people that want them and pay ebay prices are just contributing to the problem… total catch 22.

  • RRP is not a bargain

  • What's the difference between regular Lego stores and "AG Lego Certified Stores"?

    • I believe regular is company owned, AG is franchised.

      • Ah thanks!

  • I can think of a shedload of things I'd rather have than a toy car for $270

Maybe I'm just old or something. But people thinking that Lego today will be rare and valuable in 20 years because it's still in the box, when there's 200,000 other people with the same idea might just be a little optimistic.

    • +1

What makes you think buyers of this set are doing so to store and resell for profit down the road? I'll build it with my kids and place it next to the Ecto-1 and 89 Batmobile.

PS: Yes I agree lego's pricing is getting nuts. But if people keep paying, the company will continue to raise prices.

      • I spent a mob on Lego when my kids were that age too… good times :)

The hype and people buying multiple sets makes me think that many aren't buying it for fun though.

        • I'd love a diecast BTTF car over lego any day for probably half the price

        • +1

I can't speak for anyone else but I was going to buy 3 however limited myself to 2 for now, I plan to have all 3 versions side by side on the same shelf as Ecto-1, 1989 Bat Mobile, 1989 Bat Wing and the Tumbler! I've never bought multiples of the same Lego set but as a massive Back to the Future fan I couldn't not have multiples. I hope the next set this size is the Adam West Batmobile.

I am sure however that a big percentage of people that bought multiple sets are either flipping some or all of them for profit becuase an unfortunate mentality of some people these days is that they need to make profit from other peoples desire to own something, I hate it and refuse to buy from them, if this set went out of stock before I could buy one I would have waited till they were back in stock.

  • how is this a bargain?
same price as RRP + delivery.
when you order from Lego AU site, delivery is even free for $149 & above.
plus they sometimes have free small items on the side.

just note that this is a newly released unit.
Lego will defo stock this up again, same as the UCS AT-AT & Titanic when it was released.
give it a few weeks and it will be back in stock.

  • all gone. hehe
