    HODL for the 4000 series

    • +1

Or buy this one now and sell it just before the ones release then upgrade.

    • +4

Will the 4000 series have adequate stock, and will they have reasonable pricing? These are the questions I am eager to find out come release time!

  • +6

tempting but not close enough! come on below $1500

seems like 100%ish more expensive for 40%ish improvement. user case aside, hope the price will keep dropping.

Agree with your outcome but don't use userbenchmark for any comparisons. Have a history of clear bias and delusion.

      • Which site is a better tool for comparisons?

        • +4

          hardware unboxed, youtube channel

            • +6

@scottySK: Just go to one of hardware unboxed recent gpu reviews then skip to their 12 game average timestamp

            • +2

@scottySK: He is a bit, but his benchmark data is still useful. I just mute the video and skip to the relevant section.

          • @Rod M: is Hardware Unboxed the youtuber got screwed by NVIDIA ?

            • +2

@SeiraS: yea, and Linus came to their defence, he does not sugar coat bad performance so I guess some vendors don't like him much (or their marketing departments don't like him)

              • -2

@Rod M: speaking of sugar coating, you should hear from our sponsor, glussware, speaking of glussware, you need to know about the sponsor of this video, Bbrand, speaking of Bbrand, check out the LEEstore . com.

          gpucheck.com is way better

        • Tom's Hardware is far from my favourite review site, but the GPU round up is still useful for quick comparison of current cards

anyone else hate userbenchmark as a benchmark site? That user rating metric is trash and shouldn't be the first and biggest rating. And is it so hard to list the actual specs of cards?

      • +2

Yep it's an Ai automatic comparison that's nothing like traditional benchmark systems using a "test rig".

    • Computer parts have always had diminishing returns, if you used this argument you'd always buy the lowest tier card because each card costs x% more for y% more performance where x > y.

The below table is something I put together based on the latest 12 game benchmarks from the guys at Hardware Unboxed to give you an idea of the % difference between the different cards.

      Avg FPS (1440p) 1440p FPS % of 3090 Ti Avg FPS (4k) 4k FPS % of 3090 Ti
      Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti 171 100% 108 100%
      Nvidia RTX 3090 163 95% 98 91%
      AMD RX 6900XT 160 94% 90 83%
      Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti 158 92% 95 88%
      Nvidia RTX 3080 12GB 153 89% 91 84%
      AMD RX 6800XT 147 86% 83 77%
      Nvidia RTX 3080 146 85% 86 80%
      AMD RX 6800 131 77% 74 69%
      Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti 124 73% 70 65%
      Nvidia RTX 3070 116 68% 64 59%
      Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 104 61% 57 53%
      • that amazon 6900xt deal now seems very tempting with this information, thanks for putting it together

        • It doesn’t take into consideration ray tracing or dlss, which may or may not be a factor when choosing too. Happy that it helped though!

          • @rmh: having never had ray tracing or dlss not sure what i would be missing tbh

high framerates are always a win in my eyes

      • Thank you for the awesome informative table.

Makes the 3080 12gb seem like amazing value

  • Yeah nah

  • +2

500 more than the same model of 3080 12gb?? and that one took days to be OOS

    • +1

      This is the Ti model

      • +2

Yeah which only has marginal performance gains, and unlike in the past where you can justify the price of xx80ti since they were top of the line, this time there are two cards above it

383 days ROI if u manage to get to 96mh on lol miner. Traditionally I think 411 days at 91mh. Uses 270w so she's hungry.

    • people still mine with gpus…er

      • Pffft so out of date, I hash with good old fashioned pick axe!

    • if you're a miner with more than 700mh, you shouldn't even be touching ROI at all, you're in it for the long run. those using ROI are only in it for the short term. ive had a small rig of 1.2gh/s since 2017 and did not care about ROI because ive already invested up to 2.5gh/s in 2021.

      • I kinda just do it for the down votes, also small and 1.2gh in the same sentence doesn't work! That's medium sized! But pretty darn good!

    • lol get a real job you basement dweller

  • +1

Performance sitting around 97-98% of that of a 3090 take into account that it has half the vram. Sits slightly above 6900xt which also has more vram.

  • Bastard product born off Nvidia’s shameless greed and disrespect to its customers.

  • At that bargain price, I'll take 10! ;)

  • Unbelievably cheap! OMG! Only $1800, Wow! Bought 100! Thanks
