On sale is the new Redmi Note 11 Pro+ that offers 5G connectivity and a lot of other features for a good price. If you want more storage/RAM than 6GB/128GB then the 8GB/256GB version can be had for US$394.90 (~A$ 524.11) with multiple colours available for both configurations.

Edit: US$40 coupon now available and apply coupon RUMIFANS10 for a further US$10 off.

Featuring MIUI 12.5 (Android 11), 6.67" 2400x1080 AMOLED Display with 120Hz refresh rate & 1200nits peak brightness, 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 RAM (supports MicroSD), Widevine L1 DRM for Amazon/Netflix HD, NFC, 4500mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge, 108MP+8MP+2MP Rear Camera, 16MP Front Camera, 5G/4G with B28, Dual SIM, 2 JBL Speakers, 3.5mm audio, IR Blaster, Fingerprint Reader, WiFi AC, Bluetooth 5.2 and GPS.

Under the hood it uses the powerful mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 920 CPU with ARM Mali-G68 GPU offering good performance and the first phone to use vapor chamber cooling to keep it extra cool during gaming, fast charging etc.

For reviews I recommend checking out Techtablets as they compare it against the similar Samsung Galaxy A53 that sells for $699 at JB. In summary Chris found that the performance and features in the Redmi Note are a clear winner over the Samsung A53.

I was better off going with the Redmi Note 10 Pro (which is a fair bit cheaper, even on Amazon). Basically the same everything except the chipset. The 11 uses a Mediatek chip, while the 10 uses a Qualcomm. If you intend to play games, they tend to be optimised for the Qualcomm, not the Mediatek. If that doesn't matter to you, well, I'd probably still go with the 10 as it's cheaper.

Your comparison had the wrong phone. This is the correct comparison. When AnTuTu and Geekbench have better scores it's a clear indication the performance will be better.

      • -3

My point still stands, and it's something that's been covered extensively with the Note 11 Pro's real world performance with games. Synthetic benchmarks only tell some of the story when it comes gaming, especially in the mobile arena.

        • The Dimensity 920 in the Note 11 Pro Plus performs a lot better than the Snapdragon 732G. The Helio G96 in the Note 11 Pro does not perform as well as the Snapdragon 732G.

          • @Clear: Is this a worthy upgrade over Huawei P30 Pro?

          • -2

@Clear: Except it doesn't with gaming, which was the point of my original reply.

Sure, spread some misinformation, and get people to brigade downvote, that doesn't change reality.

            • +3

@sortius: Except it's not better in gaming. The only one around here who is brigading downvotes would be you given you've negged the deal for being unable to admit you're wrong.

      Thanks for the comparison.

    • Note 10 is only 4G. If that isn't an issue there a great phone. Had mine for about 7 months now. Zero issues still very fast battery last more then a day. And I'm a heavy user .

Do they have custom rom available that you can get?

      • I can't find a custom ROM that is problem free from what's on forums I've been holding out to see if Xiaomi release a update / fix .

This video is for the Poco but the guide is correct on how to downgrade back to MIUI 12.5 for a Xiaomi phone. I believe a condition set by Xiaomi is that the bootloader must be unlocked for 7 days before flashing.

There would be more guides and info about it on xda developers. I've not tried it myself before.

          • @Clear: Thanks very much for that video ,?does it apply to the Redmi note 10 pro also .?

            • @spock: The tools and method used should be the same. The difference being the ROM and so forth being used.

              • +1

@Clear: I think down grade to 12.5.7 etc is the best idea to try solve this I'm not a expert on this but worth a try after I get the boot loader unlocked . pity Xiaomi don't give out this help or info via a simple email from support that were things fail .thank you again .

    • Care to explain a little further? I've updated to 13 on my own X3 Pro, no issues whatsoever.

      • After update cannot send or receive mms, texts ,camera won't function properly, mute won't work huge delay opening anything.its just awful I've spent days checking Apn etc etc .

        • Jesus. That's one brutal update.

    • That sucks, mine updated fine, but it was brand new as of Sunday.

    • I updated my new F3 last week to Miui 13 and touchwood has been fine.

      • Was yours OTA? I'm still on 12.5.6 and can't find any updates (not that I particularly care about missing any of the updated features or anything, just genuinely curious)

      • Lucky, my poco f3 camera just decided to crap itself and not work anymore. Not even sure why so returning back to Amazon. :(

    • My Redmi Note 8T was the best phone I have had since the HTC One M8, a few months ago I got an update to MIUI 12.5 with Android 11 and it completely f***ed my phone after less than 2 years of a great phone.

It's strange how the updates affect the phones even same models some are fine and others it stuffs your phone weird .

    • For Clarity: the update you applied was MIUI 13 w Android 12 Global? .. or MIUI 13 w Android 11 Global (which seems to be the OTA standard )

      • +1

MIUI 13 with Android 12 Global OTA .

        • Thx

FWIW it seems they claim to have released on 7/4/22 stable MIUI 13 versions for install to phone model numbers: 2201123G (Global) via the various modalities

          • @Wally: Thank you mate appreciate your help .

    • Yep. Regretting the update. Not receiving texts, internet on wifi is super slow, laggy performance. Very frustrating.

    Any deals on the F3?

5G has been in Australia for years mate and supports n78, n40, n28 and n5. This Redmi supports 5G n1/3/5/8/7/8/20/28/38/40/41/66/77/78 so the 5G will definitely work here.

    Super AMOLED is very cool!

Your favourite type of phone screen. Certainly more than a Poco in price.

What's the go with VoLTE on these phones?

  • Anyone else find it silly they gimped the size of the battery for faster charging speeds?

I would suggest you wait for more user reviews, reasons:

    1. Initial response from India is not so good as compared to other Redmi phones:
      https://www.amazon.in/Redmi-Stealth-Additional-Exchange-Avai…

    2. Same costs 20,999 in India which is around 366 AUD so there is scope for price to come down.

Sorry I am not a tech pro. Was waiting for this phone but kind of disappointed from early user reviews.

  • Good deal but not yet a good price comparing to these 4g versions. Might keep waiting.

Can we appreciate the proper use of “than” and then followed by the “then” on this post. Amazing!

  • Is this the really good phone with the lack of optical image stabilisation.

  • A $40 off coupon is now available: US$339.90 delivered.

    • Thanks.

I have the redmi note 10s currently and I will say this. I will never buy another one again. The camera quality is disgraceful. Typical Chinese quality. I can't even say you pay for what you get because I should have went the cheaper Samsung 😐

  • AliExpress always get you with the 10% gst at the checkout. Expect that final price to go higher.

Also bangood have the graphite gray one of this for $419 atm. Gst inclusive.
