  Can someone please enlighten me on the HDMI connections? I currently use optical out from TV-> Soundbar.

  If I wanted to swap to using an HDMI cable for audio would it be using the soundbar HDMI out-> TV?

  I'm assuming xbox would be xbox->soundbar HDMI in-> soundbar HDMI out->tv?

    Make sure you connect the sound bar to the hdmi port labelled ARC on your tv
    Once you do that the audio from the tv or Xbox will play through the sound bar no matter where it is connected
    Either connecting the Xbox to the tv or soundbar won’t matter for audio.
    I’d preferably connect the Xbox to the tv to ensure it gets the best connection possible for video
