Not really a deal, BPC selling it for $1549

  • +11

    That's a terrible price

12gb going for like high mid $1200

    I couldn't HODL anymore

    RIP

    • That's the price of HODLing, paying $300 more than 2 weeks ago. where the HODL brigade now?

      • +2

Not really, OP just messed up bad. Prices are trending downwards so HODLing is the smart move. Anyone monitoring GPU prices would tell this is not a good price. Not sure why OP broke suddenly, didn’t even get the cheapest one currently available

Colorful Vulcan, which is the same tier as ASUS ROG, is selling for $1494 a few days back (Call for ETA atm). Not a deal

  • +5

For a month now this price can't be considered a deal. Feels bad when you could of saved more.

  • What is the MSRP on RTX 3080s?

    • +2

some evga models were 1169 launch day

  • Don't these Gigabyte cards have issues with thermal pads?

    • used to be

    • probably still is.

  • +2

Wait for next week's easter sale

  • +2

They had the Galax Supergamer RTX3080 ones for 1299.

  • +6

Even at this price point, I would add $30 extra and go for the Evga FTW3 Ultra

  • Bruh…

  • +1

    Not a good Deal..

  • +5

Kind of feel bad for OP

    • +3

Yeah, thought it was a decent deal only to find out it’s actually a rip off.

  • I'm personally hodling for 308012gb, but this ones not it

  • +1

RRP for the 3080 is $1139

Third party cards are rarely RRP so worth maybe $1300. Something below that would be deal worthy.

$1569 is not. Sorry OP, but you've let the inflated prices over covid cloud your idea of what is a good deal here. These are dropping in price and will likely be closer to the $1300 mark around easter. I would cancel your order.

    • This is the 12GB 3080, there is no RRP for this.

  • +2

Not a deal. Should be $1249.

  • +10

OP, you hodl'd for 2 years and finally bought it at a bad price!

  • +2

Horrible deal!, we’re below the 1300 mark anything above that is pointless to post.

  • People going out still spending money on over priced cards to play what demanding games ? probably COD and Crapplefield 2042

  • +3

I want to laugh but I just can't help feel bad for you. You held and bought it at a terrible price in a period where they have been far lower.

  • +1

    Can we remove this please?

  • +1

Gigabyte makes the worst coolers for this series of their cards…

Too expensive to be considered a 'deal'.

You HODL too long missing the recent deals, only to pay for this overpriced POS?

  • This is defs a joke

  • This page has (profanity) became a front store for all those bloody computer stores, BPC, PLE, Techfast, CC… just get your own fking websites. People really have no idea what a "bargain" is… This would be a bargain if it was like 800 AUD… if it isn't it's just a listing of an item with some price.

      username checks out

      OzStaticIce?

      • +1

OzBPCTech looks like in the recent many 3080 deals.

  • What was a good price for these PRE the bullshit we have just endured?

    • This is the 12GB version of the 3080, so these just came out earlier this year — the original 3080 was a 10GB card. There isn't really any solid reference point when it comes to price, it's just whatever the market decides. These are definitely more expensive than the 10GB cards, but are cheaper than the 3080 Ti.

      • Cheers! What about the 10gb cards? Be somewhat comparable, normally the ones with more memory are anywhere from $50-$200 more expensive.
Just wondering if these are considered still inflated prices.

        • The 10GB cards have definitely dropped down to around the original RRP prices… they've been selling for around $1150-1200 lately.
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080

Prices can be a bit tricky to compare though, as some of the more premium brands (with better cooling, warranty support etc) command a $200-300 higher price over others.

My prediction is that they will all drop a bit more over the next few months, especially as we approach the launch of the RTX 40 series cards.

  • Wow Not even a bargain………..

  • Seems like a rip

  • Seems like prices aren't going down anymore. Should have bought few 3060Ti on Afterpay day.

    • They are, just not as quickly as the recent plunge.
The afterpay deals were good but if you missed no need to get too hung up, prices are steadily dropping. We may see them eclipsed in the coming weeks as an optimistic estimation
