Bonus Olympus M. Zuiko ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO Lens (up to $1599) with The Purchase of an Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mk3 $2231.41 Del @ Ryda

90

Until 15 Apr 22, purchase an Olympus OM-D E-M1 III, or Olympus OM-D E-M1X $3086.41 from selected retailers and recieve the Olympus M. Zuiko ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO Lens for free via redemption.

The Olympus M. Zuiko ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO Lens is one of the best lenses you can buy for the M4/3 system, a constant F2.8 across the range and solid metal construction with weather and dust sealing. The crop sensor gives it an effective FF range of 24-80mm if you were to compare similar photos from M4/3 to FF sensor size. The lens is valued at retail $1599 according to Olympus however you can buy it brand new for around the $1200 mark depending where you look. Even with second hand pricing, the Body and Lens will probably set you back anywhere from $1800-$2000 so for that peace of mind warranty and having something brand new to unbox I think it's a good deal for anyone looking to jump into photography. Don't listen to the pixel counters either, M4/3 are an excellent enthusiast size that are great for travelling as they can be made more compact. I have seen some absolutely stellar photos from M4/3 that would put any FF or APS-C sensor size to shame. At the end of the day, its your skill that will hold you back from the perfect shot, not the sensor size.

As for the Cameras, No Frills is offering the Olympus OM-D E-M1 III for $2119.85. There are cheaper retailers, especially Kogan / Dick Smith but I do not think they will qualify for the redemption. T&C state it must be an authorised dealer found here. No Frills (Aka Ryda - with a B&M shop in Petersham, NSW) seems to be the cheapest I can (thanks to Buy2Much) find the body for.

You can buy online, however you will need the serial number to claim the lens, so if you are doing that and having CW ship it to you, perhaps ask them to open the box to grab the serial so you can submit the claim concurrently as it needs to be submitted by the 15th of April.

Happy Dealing!

Update: $2231.41 with PAPP15 coupon from Ryda's NO FRILLS eBay store (limited stock) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/283793702924

  • E-M1 iii from No-frills (same store as Ryda) on eBay for $2119, use the 15-17% off code here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/692581

    • I think this might not work unless you can get an invoice from Ryda. As discussed above it needs to be an Authorised Dealer as listed on the Olympus Australia site.

Worth a gamble, or perhaps ask if they will provide an invoice saying it was purchased from Ryda?

      • I recall having bough from no-frills a while ago the invoice was generated by the parent store so should be valid.
Also $2013 after 5% discount code from Camera Store https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Olympus-OM-D-E-M1-MK-III-Body-/1…
I have been sitting on the fence for a week whether to upgrade. It’s very tempting…

        • Yeah I saw this one, and I have actually emailed them to confirm whether they would qualify for the deal but I am still waiting on a response.

I will update if they are certain it will be honoured.

          Cheers

          • @Pelicannn: Correction, $2089 from Camera Store after 5% discount. Considering $30 diff and the time urgency, I’d go buy from no-frills now.

            • @Buy2Much: Alright I just got an email back from Camera Store. I would now be a little worried about purchasing from no-frills as well now based on their reply.

              Hi Joshua,

ebay is excluded from these promotions and as we are an ebay only store that would mean that you are not able to claim the bonus lens

you could try one of the large online stores such as Diamonds Camera or others that are listed as authorised resellers

              Kind regards

              • @Pelicannn: Interesting because in the past, I successfully made Olympus claims for purchases from Aust camera stores on eBay. Their invoices were just like normal store invoices.
As a matter of fact, I got a bonus lens claim from a No Frills purchase last year.

                • @Buy2Much: Yeah I dunno, I guess I'd be more comfortable knowing that. Did they give you an invoice from No Frills or from Ryda?

    • We are a FULLY AUTHORISED Australian retailer for Olympus Australia.

Just found this on the bottom of the page for the No-Frills ebay store. That gives me enough confidence! Thanks :)

  • +1

Just as an FYI for anyone buying, this is because the new OM-1 is out with a new version of this lens.

However considering that this is less than half the price of the OM-1 + lens, it makes it a pretty attractive option.

  • be careful with the shipping time, you may not have the box on the 15th and may miss out

    • Yep, I would personally call the store and ask them to send you the serial number immediately so you can claim. No doubt they would accomodate.

      • None of them will give you that from my experience.

        • Even if i have already paid and it isn't costing them anything? Otherwise the promotional period is way too short IMO.

          • @Pelicannn: The responses I got were usually along the line that as long as the purchase date on the invoice is valid, I should be able to make a claim.

    • The Promotional Period means from 00:01 (AEST) on 1 April 2022 to 23:59 on 15 April 2022. The Promoter will accept bonus item claims received by the Promoter on or before 15 May 2022.
