Kirkland Signature 3 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky 1.75L $89.99 Delivered ($18 off) @ Costco Online (Membership required)

60

$18 off their Blended Scotch Whiskey. Seems to get good reviews. Can anyone add any input as to what this scotch is like? As much as it seems to be a decent price, it's still a lot (and a lot of whiskey) if it's terrible. I don't know if you can get it cheaper in store sometimes as we can't get any Alcohol up here in Qld.

The aged malt and grain whiskies in this Kirkland Signature Scotch Whiskey are carefully blended to evoke aromas of dried fruit, with a slightly sweet, malty taste, giving way to a long, gently warming finish.

Edit: Just spotted their Vodka is also $10 off, down to $84.99 for 1.75L. Nowhere near as good a deal as previously ($69.99) but it is what it is. Maybe helps someone.

I got their single malt was it 22 yrs old or whatever when the specials are on it was 120 bucks. For the age diff probably hold off - never tried the 3 yr old…. But just presuming.

    • 22 year old probably wasn't 1.75 litres?

I would have expected 3 year old to be harsh but haven't read reviews. But for $36 per 700ml the target demographic is likely easily pleased

      • Yes true missed that. Well if your after cheap volume whiskey then I doubt the reviews matter too much. Otherwise pay the extra and get the 22 yo which isnt that much for an aged single malt when you compare other brands to be honest…..

        • Thanks guys for your input. I don't drink much or that often so probably better to get something better and savour it. How long does it keep once I've opened one?

    • Was that in store or online? Don't have many options up here.

      • Both, but sold out now, I got one too, crazy price for a 22yr old, yet to open but I’ve heard good things

        • Got two. One for myself and one for bucks. Definitely stronger. Higher alcohol % but once you get started it's not too bad of a drink. We went through the whole bottle pretty quick. Sherry cask can be tasted throughout.

Got their XO cognac a year ago - quite bad compared to other XO brands.

    • I didn't think it was too bad for the price.

TBH doesn't strike me as a real bargain unless you're sure it's very good. Johnie Walker Red is regularly under $40/700ml and if you can wait for a cashback deal you can get it under $30. I think they have 10% off today at Liquorland so that puts it at $36/700ml without CB.

Note I'm not say JWR is a great drop - far from it. But it's a known taste and this target market isn't drinking it straight - would definitely be going into Coke I'm thinking.

  • Equivalent to $36 for a 700mL bottle
