Great tent but its heavy and very bulky. Also be mindful the reviews about the pegs that come with it should be replaced with decent ones - apart from that, its easy to set up (1 person could do it, two people easier) in about 15 min.

    • What are you doing wrong?

"Instant up frame for simple setup in under 3 minutes"

      • +4

I'm not doing anything wrong. Main frame goes up in about 3 minutes - putting pegs in all around takes longer, putting the fly sheet over the tent probably takes 5 min on its own. Overall i would say its a 30 min job which is still pretty good.

Their 3 minutes instant up probably refers to just the main inner part, not all the bits.

I think they were being sarcastic.

It takes MINIMUM 5 minutes to take everything out of the bag and stare at it thinking…. "how am I going to get all this back in?"

      • Have you ever set one this tent up and under 6 mins?

  • +3

This is normal price from annaconda btw. Same with snowys and other popular tent stores. RRP is way bloated for what it really is worth.

    • -3

No it's not, $999 is the normal price.

    • +1

yeah this is normal price. I paid about $550 when they originally came out (without light).

  • How do you stop rain water from pooling on the awning?

    • +1

spread awning legs further out so the awning angles down or cut off the ends so they are shorter

      • Thanks. Will give this a go if and when there's a rain forecast.

    • +1

only use on really sunny days withba forecast of no rain.

    • Push the water out from time to time

Please note there is a known issue with the poles on these tents, which can be easily twisted 180 degrees when setting up. If this happens, the tent won't lock in place and needs to be twisted back. It can be quite fiddly with this issue and cause damage to the tent poles.

    Great tent.
It's occasionally $699 throughout the year.

Takes me at least 30mins to have it completely set up.

I payed $649 pre Covid. From a non chain store camping shop.

  • I have this tent too. Got mine for $679 during afterpay 15% off deal at tentworld earlier in 2021.
Anaconda had this on sale for $649 in 2021 too. Usually the price is $799 - I had been following the price all 2020 and 2021.

For video on how easy it is to set up and take down…

It really is easier than many other tents I've owned

  • I can confirm this is heavy. Very heavy I went to get one at the store and given up due to its weight I couldn't lift it up by myself.
