Was looking for a new powerboard with USB ports and bought the black version yesterday which had 15% off. Today the white version has a 25% discount promo on the item page. Assuming it is a 'coupon' which is available to everyone.

The code only applies to a single board, so need to complete multiple purchases to get the maximum discount.

There were a couple of fairly popular deals recently for the 65W @ $55.99 and the 24W @ $35.99.

Why is it more common for powerboards not to come with individual on/off switches??

    • +1

Number of parts to make and keep inventory of. Costs to produce with increased assembly steps. Increased defect risks and testing requirements. etc
Also the workers unions normally stipulate a maximum part limit per finished item.
Apple saved a lot (not really) on the above by getting rid of the headphone jack.

  • Is there something like this that can be turned on/off via an app or Alexa/Siri/Google? I mean, with the potential load on the board is such switch feasible technically?

Plug into another smart power adapter.

There are wifi powerboards or you can just use a smart switch in between the powerboard and the wall (make sure you check the watt rating)

Few Arlec ones at Bunnings, and plenty of listings on Amazon but have only seen 4 way boards.

  • The code only applies to a single board, so need to complete multiple purchases to get the maximum discount.

What exactly do you mean by this, OP?
You can clip the 25% off coupon on this product as many times as you need to purchase it during the promotion period.

    • For some reason I had 2 in my cart but it only applied a $12.50 discount, so had to do 2 seperate purchases.

      • That's a bug in Amazon I have noticed lately.

What is even more annoying is that they will ship the products in separate runs, rather than group them together for a single delivery run.
There is no grouping option / preference even though their support doc says otherwise.

  • Amazon pointed this one out to me at $30.59 so I bought it instead

Very different "speeds" if you use the USB for charging modern devices.

      45W PD vs 12W.

I have the HeyMix 65W one charging a laptop and a phone. One switch turning on all the peripherals (monitors, speaker, table lamp, etc)

If that suits your needs than that is all that matters. The board that I posted was better for me as it had a USB-C port which supports fast charging.

    • HEYMIX surge protection rating = 900J.

  • looks ok. will give it a go. At 18W this should power my Switch.

    Great deal.

Have the 65W version and charges my laptop and phone while I watch tv just fine. Auselect have really good service too.
