What Makes OzBargain great for you?

Like our other popular forum poster: I have a love/hate relationship with ozbargain.com.au. I really enjoy the principle of sharing great deals, saving sums money and getting everyone's shared experiences and reviews.
At the same time the humour is pretty solid. There are some witty commentators among you.

So, glass half full, what makes ozbargain great for you.

Edit: I love clear's tablet deals

You need to save your money for scott's tots.

  • Hating on JV. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether or not he's deliberately posting something stupid to intentionally attract downvotes.

    • -2

On one of my posts JV was supportive and unsupportive in two different comments!

    • Did you just assume JV's gender? Because that he is actually a she…

    No Jv, No Deal

I'm a relatively new member but I like the bargains of course, but in particular the deal comments where people share their experiences with the product. It's great for research, even for historic non active deals as I'll often search Google for a product and add "ozbargain" at the end find past deals and their comments.

I've also received a few referrals from the automated randomised referral system, which is a nice bonus.

The icing on the cake is the classified sections where I've been able to join other people's family plans for Disney Plus, Binge, and Spotify, as well as running my own Netflix family plan. I'm not aware of any other website where I would have been able to participate in such sharing.

Good advantages. Before I go to buy anything I often check its best ozb price.

I think the first time I saw BMT's video on JV was the most memorable laugh I've ever had on this site. So I voted JV.

Edit: I love clear's tablet deals

😘 Thanks. Always good to be appreciated as I always try to provide accurate information and help out in all my posts. Chinese tech, like tablets just so happens to be something I know a lot about.

Now I'm eagerly awaiting for the next AliExpress sale to share more tablet deals. Though looking at the schedule for this month it's pretty barren sadly.

Yeah it's much appreciated. I'm still waiting for my Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 to die before I can have an excuse to try something new. But it has been great to have chinese tablets to reccomend to family. A relative just picked up the Teclast t40 pro. I'd love to try it an the alldocube kpad table out one day.

      • Speaking of the kPad, Alldocube released the 'Smile X' recently. Pretty much identical except the display is 10.1" instead of 10.4". I think that's the reason why the kPad is so low in price currently.

The laughs I get out of some of the dumbest questions asked.

    • Car crash posts

    • you get the laughs i get the trolls like seriously go through my post history.. i get into some heated debates here on ozb.. stuff is serious but i just want answers to questions asked also :(

I came for the deals and stayed for the LOLs

  • +1

I picked the deals, but a very close second would have to be the comments (both the insightful ones that tell me stuff I would never have otherwise known, as well as the silly ones eg. puns or funny references)

  • Wow it's a lot harder to think of things you like than things you don't like.

I'll have to go with the humour.

    • it really is harder to think of something positive than something negative.
I love the freebies like the pepsi max challenge or the springfree ball

  • Came for the bargains, stayed for the confirmation bias posts.

    • hive mind mentality is scary but sometimes it is right.. yeah i dont know

  • What Makes OzBargain great for you?

    • Knowledgeable, factual people - Quora/Stackexchange level of professionalism
    • Great UI, 100% easy to read
    • New site features keep being added
    • The great deals
    • Forum for the most part still free from political tainted garbage. Hope it stays that way

What Makes OzBargain not great for you?

    • the O.G. ozb legends not here anymore (Scab, PJC, tshow, HighandDry, many others)
    • What happened to scab?

      • perma penalty box :(
a casualty of karens quietly reporting his jokes and comments and eventually got him PB'ed.
Scab made into the monthly top commenters list for 5-6 months if not more.

listed in the epic throwback thread
thought not in the official hall of fame
