Best Value Robot Vacuum

Hi bargainers! I live in a 2 BR apartment that has carpet, and been thinking about getting a robo vac so that I dont have to vacuum once a week.

From your experience, which vacuums would you recommend the most?

Comments

  • Budget?

    • Happy to spend whatever if the features justify it. But at the same time dont want to waste (classic ozb)

  • Best value would have to be original xiaomi robot vac if you can find one. I sold mine after three years for $150 and thought the buyer was getting a great deal. It still felt as good as day 1 (they were $330 ish)

    • This is what I am trying to find.

      Where did you sell it?

      Ebay? Gumtree? Facebook marketplace?

      • Facebook - much fewer time wasters, I find

  • Dreame robot vacs are good value. Have a couple and they work well.

    • They just dropped a new one with a self cleaning mop as well

    • which version did you get or do you recommend

      • For smaller areas the Dreame F9 works great. I was worried due to lack of LIDAR but it gets around perfectly well and it has good suction. Its cheap as well.

For my upstairs I have Dreame D9. This is more like the standard Xiaomi models, and works great again.

        • Thanks my biggest worry is every entrance to a room has a small lip that I'm not sure if it will be able to get over so my robot vacuum purchase will have to be one with great ability to get over hills and lips.

          • @AlienC: They’re pretty bloody good at getting over ‘lips’ you’d be surprised. Rugs with tassels are a different story though.

            • @mooney: No rugs here thankfully.

We do have a weird room that has a ramp that angles down hopefully it detects it as a cliff or slope it can't go back up or that might be the only robot vacuum trap in the house besides spiral stairs.

              • @AlienC: Ha ha. Good luck with it. It’s worth a punt (maybe go the D9 or one equivalent) to test them out. I have two vacuums that run daily on my wooden floors and I honestly have no need to do any personal vacuuming on top. It’s been probably 5+ years since I retired the Dyson.

this when it goes on sale. Been happy with this purchase for a couple of months now. Almost use it daily and it picks up dust and dog hair great and app isn't hard to use (I still vaccum once weekly/fortnightly to get corners and small gaps).

Comes with a auto bin and mopping which is a bonus.

    • I bought the model before this (only difference was it doesn't have the UV Light) and was so happy. All of a sudden the machine started resetting its saved maps every week or so or re writing over them. It then got worse and I would have to set up new maps each time i used it. I could still use it without this feature but annoying as I didn't have my house all set out on the app. The next thing to go wrong was it would stop vacuuming and just turn off mid vacuum. This didn't' happen each time at first but got worse and worse as time went on. This is all within 9 months of purchasing. I've contacted them for help and they have offered me a refund so I'm sending it back next week. I'm thinking I'll just bite the bullet and buy the Roomba J7+. I wish we could get access to the Shark RV1000S machine in Australia as this looks amazing and is pretty reasonably priced.

  • I got the Wyse Robot Vac from Amazon and pretty happy with it. Battery life could be better, but does a pretty good job.

  • Anybody know a seller I can buy dreame d9
I have one and I want buy one for parents and no seller sells it now

I have d9 and a 4 bed house, partially carpet
Just start the robot and it does everything adjusting suction when it goes from timber to carpet and all
