[Unobtainable Deal] Disney Plus Subscription 12 Months for 5000 Telstra Plus Pts

Moved to Forum: Original Link

I received an email from Telstra that I could redeem 5,000 Telstra Plus points for 3 months of free Disney Plus subscription. Upon signing up for this - it actually applied 12 months subscription for free.
Terms appear to show the promotion ended - but I signed up just now and was surprised to get 12 months instead of 3 and for free.

EDIT: although I processed and selected to use 5,000 points for 3 months subscription, the points were not taken and I ended up with 12 months completely free.

Mod: It seems some are receiving 12 months (free) from this previous deal.

Signed up to an eligible offer between 11 Jan - 28 March 2022?
If your plan has been activated, redeem your Disney+ offer now and start enjoying 12 months of Disney+ on us. Redeem by 31 May 2022.

Those who aren't eligible and receiving the advertised 3 months and having points taken out. 1, 2, 3.

Moved to forums so discussion can continue, some may still like to redeem 5,000 points for the 3 months or post that as a separate deal.

  • Poo, I got this

Please ensure you have an eligible service linked to your Telstra ID via Telstra 24x7 MyAccount under account settings.

Oh well. Already paid up for another 9 months or so anyways.

    • How do I add my Telstra ID to my current Disney Plus subscription?

    • Didn’t work for me either. I’ve got the points but no active service.

    • Got this same issue. Seems the prepaid ones are excluded? Coz it’s already ‘paid’.

Edit: prepaid only customers are excluded. Their crap terms:

Subscription Offer: You must have sufficient Telstra Plus points to redeem the offer at the full amount; no partial payments are allowed. You must be a Legal Lessee, Account Owner, or Full Authority on the account to redeem this offer. Credit is not transferable to any other plan or product. You must not be a pre-paid only customer. Offer not available to Business tier Telstra Plus members or customers who have taken up the ‘12 months on us’ Disney+ offer through Telstra.

    Ok groomer

      Groomers+

  • I remember a similar promo for Binge through Telstra Plus where you sign up for 1 or 3 months free but actually got 12 months like you did. It was fair game to ozbargainers and they soon shut it down and pretty much cancelled all subs that went through that promo.

    • +1

I was hoping for a similar deal as well.

Not all sign up was cancelled. My 12 months Binge subscription was reactivated after the cancellation.

  • If I sign up to this and cancel it a day later will I still be able to use the account for 3 months?

    • Yes it will expire after 3 months

  • +9

Just signed up and only got 3 months, not 12 months.

    • Lol…maybe op is eligible for free 12 months and actually redeemed that

  • +2

Ditto - 3 months here too

  • Won't let me redeem because i've already claimed the free 12 months from the previous promo. Oh well!

  • +1

Signed up and got 12 months. 12 months showing in the Telstra Plus page also for me.

  • Only got 3 but better than nothing.

  • Seems some are being offered 12 months and others 3 months. Likely targeted.

    • +3

It’s probably related to your Telstra loyalty tier (gold/silver/etc)

      • I'm silver but still only 3 months so dunno

  • Only 3 months for me :(

I have a feeling you activated this promo and not the 3 month one OP. Did it actually subtract 5000 points?

    • From other comments below it seems you’re right

  • Only got 3 also

  • Got 12 months. Thanks OP!

  • +1

For those that got 12 months, can you please confirm whether your offer screen said "Get Disney+ for 3 months when you redeem 5,000 points" or something different.

  • I only got 3 months and this also has not seemed to have not applied to the existing credit on my Disney account, according to Telstra I will be billed on 13/7/22 when I already had enough credit to the 4/8/22 before I even applied this offer

  • Payment methods not working for me, shame was offering 12 months

Edit : Disney plus requested payment, which it then declined. Upon checking it appears I have access .

When I click through to subscription page it is blank. ….. l will enjoy while it lasts ….thanks Op

  • I was offered the 12 month one that said ‘new and returning customers’ but when I went to redeem, it says I’m ineligible because it requires a new account

  • You can cancel these straight away after activating right?

    • -1

Nah, what they make you do is meet at a central location in regional Australia and you have to take a signed form and place it in a box on top of a large hill that takes several days to climb.

  • Only got 3 months - waste of points.

    • now to spend another $500 dollars.

  • I clicked on the link and got 12 months. I have an old Disney plus account but had not previously got any deals through Telstra with it maybe that’s why.

    Didn’t even deduct any points.

    • from the "Things you need to know" section:

"Your points will only be deducted when you activate your Disney+ subscription on the Disney+ website. If you have an existing Disney+ subscription that’s billed directly through Disney, this existing subscription will be paused. If you are an existing subscriber to Disney+ via any other third-party platform partner, such as Apple, Google please call the Disney+ help centre on 1800-965-160 to discuss your options."

    • +1

I actually did not have any points deducted either - appears we got the previous expired offer for some reason - even though I am not eligible for the previous offer

  • Does this give you a coupon/credit to put towards an existing Disney+ account (which isn't linked to Telstra), or do you need to take out a new Disney+ subscription via Telstra?

    • Clicked through and was able to read more before buying. This is for adding Disney+ to your Telstra bill.

I have existing Disney+ credit and aren't due to be billed again for another few months, this sounds like the too hard basket for my situation.

  • Where does it say 12month? Mine only says 3 months, not sure if that changes when you click through.

    • It's targeted. OP wasn't aware of that.

      • Thanks :)

  • Yeah three for me as well. Nice there's an option though, it's not like I need that much to binge the few things I wanna see.

  • I got twelve months too! Cancelled my existing subscription and started a new one with my Telstra email. I'll deal with it in a year. Thanks OP.

  • I have 110000 telstra points. What is the best way to using telstra point?

    • +12

Shouldn’t you know it better than anyone else?

  • Only got 3 months

  • 3 months for me - silver tier FWIW

  • +1

Thanks I logged in and it threw me to my offer page and it said my account was eligible for a new 12 month sub. Different offer from this deal but for those with existing Telstra accounts check your My Offers, you might have got the same.

  • 3mth only…

  • Yep only 3 months also, was an existing Disney member with expired membership

  • prior to this all new services get 12 months free

  • 1,000 points short.

    • +1

Pay $100 towards your bill so you end up $100 in credit.

  • Did any points actually get deducted?

    • +1

Nope - I edited the original post so it must have linked to the expired offer somehow - even tho I am not on any of the plans that would make me eligible for that offer.

    • +1

Yes, my points were deducted and just extended my existing sub by 3 months. Still worth it, 5k point is worth 15 dollars.

      • How did the pin get sent to you? Via SMS from the selected account service number or email? I don't have access to the mobile number at the moment so hoping it comes via email or maybe screen popup

        • Mobile

  • I have an existing disney plus sub expiring in 3 months.
Does redeeming this offer extend my service for another 3 to 12 months?

Entertainment giant Disney is facing a popular backlash after leaked videos of internal meetings revealed plans to make half of its characters identify as a racial minority or ‘LGBT’ by the end of the year as part of a comprehensive new “queer agenda”.

“I‘m here as the mother of two queer children, actually, one transgender child and one pansexual child, and also as a leader,” declared Karey

Burke, president of Disney’s general entertainment content, to a recent “town hall” virtual meeting of Disney staff, extolling a push for greater LGBTIQ representation.

  • Managed to get 12 months, thanks

  • Signed up for the 2 months for $2 last week. And now got the 12 months Disney+ as well.

    Perfect.

If you signed up for an eligible Telstra mobile or internet plan between 11/01/22 and 28/03/22, you can still avail 12 months of free Disney plus through the following link.
    https://www.telstra.com.au/entertainment/tv-movies/disney-pl…

Click on the "Redeem Disney+ now" button and follow the prompts.

  • Any good points scoring ideas?

  • Logged in to Telstra and offered 3 months.

Clicked “redeem” which led to a page offering 12 months.

Clicked “proceed to Disney+ to activate”.

Was told “you already have a subscription so this deal cannot be used”.

I can’t see any way of getting the 3 months which is meant to apply to existing Disney+ subscribers…

  • I got 12 months, no Points came off but $1 was deducted from my Visa account. All round a great OzBargain, thanks OP.

  • I received 3 months - took 5000 points. Will keep the kids entertained for school holidays.

  • Only got 3 months, points deducted. Oh well

  • +1

Thanks OP, got 12 months and didn't deduct Telstra points. Win win!

Means I didn't use points either.

Disney plus expires April 2023 wohoo kids will be happy.

Disney is an unabashed paedophile centre.

    • +2

Please take your American political conspiracy elsewhere.

    • Frankly that is bollocks. What is it with right wing conspiracy people and paedophile rings. It would appear they are trying too hard to distract people from what they are doing. What we do know is the Catholic Church hid their paedophile priests and moved them from place to place giving them fresh victims.

Frankly if you look back through the Disney corporation there are plenty of other things to belt them about without getting into paedophilia. There are issues with racism, sexism, exploiting workers, dodgy political affiliations. I don’t think there is going to be any, systematic, tolerance of paedophiles. Ya don’t need to make things up.

      • It’s not bollocks. This grooming of children real. I actually think it is what they are doing. Epstein was convicted. They are trying to change societies views on it, so that when others face Epstein type charges, they won’t be convicted. We can pretend all we like that it was only Epstein. .

        • Grooming of children is real but I don’t think Disney is “grooming” children. You can’t just say “Disney” and “Epstein” are the same. However, if they do get done I will be, happy, to apologise.

  • Seems that people getting the 12months is getting the bonus offer that was happening for a bit. It's 2 separate deals

  • +1

Thanks OP, I was originally excluded from the free 12 months deal, but this deal made me try again and it worked a treat :)

    • did you just click the link up top and get redirected?

How do you check if it's 12 months or not?

      • I just clicked it from here which should be the main offer and it worked for me this time around to redeem (previously said offer not available).

        • Thanks but doesn't seem to work for me. Just the 3 months.

Any who, lets see how much i can get through ;)

    • How did the pin get sent to you? Via SMS from the selected account service number or email? I don't have access to the mobile number at the moment so hoping it comes via email or maybe screen popup

  • Didn't work for me either.

    My account says
