can I quickly confirm if this one is newer in GAN technology being GAN3 (powered by NAVITAS) as opposed to this deal (powered by GAN GaN)? Apology if this is a silly question.

      Yes, that is correct.

That one is 49 on amazon Zyron POWASTONE 65W GaN Charger (GaN3), Powered by Navitas GanFast, with 1m 100W 5A USB C Cable, 3 Port USB C Charger, SAA Certified, Compatible with Macbook, Lenovo, Dell, iPad Pro, iPhone 13, Samsung S21, Note 20, Switch (White) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09QJK1361/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_8…

      • Do you have any recommendations for high quality cables to use with this?

        • +2

Shouldn't you wait until OP releases their birthday bash deal, which assumingly should beat $49?

  • Bought one, wanted a nice little super charger, good timing.

I'd be sceptical about claimed wattage. Have their 66W charger and it's not performing as it should. Every time I used it for charging concurrently a tablet and two phones one of the devices (usually a phone) started loosing power and going to "connect-disconnect" mode. Swapped with a 65W Samsung charger, which charged everything perfectly.

  • A technical question: My laptop comes with a 130W AC adaptor from the manufacturer, and has a Thunderbolt 4 PD port. Can this charger (max of only 90W for a single device) charge my laptop through the USB-C Thunderbolt PD port?
I'm guessing that since the laptop won't be drawing enormous amount of power all the time (i.e. not playing games, but just browsing pages or watching videos), it won't need to draw 130W all the time (which is what the AC adaptor allows). So, using this 90W charger will mean slower charging (not a problem for me), but can I confirm that it won't damage the laptop/battery, and will still replenish the battery?

    • Mate you'll have to check the laptop specs on the PD. For instance, a Lenovo Legion that requires 340W can charge at 65W or 130W via PD port. Which means, even if you connect a 100W GaN charger, it would only charge at 65W. If you connect a PD3.1 charger that can charge at 140W then it would charge at 140W. Note that when the Legion is charging at 65W, occasional notification of slow charging is displayed.

In your case, I reckon it would charge at 65W at least but needs to be confirmed with the specs.
