CamelCamelCamel. It's more about internal decapitation in case of an accident, and I think the general recommendation is at least 2 years rearward facing (12 months absolute min)
Not sure why you got down voted. I'm still rear facing my toddler at 2.5 years
Me too. Mine's small and doesn't yet reach the shoulder markers. I want to turn it around just to make it easier to get into and interact with the child but my partner wants it to stay rear for safety.
Is it secure?
No
It's not just secure, it's infasecure
Ps these are generally not isofix seats. I find the seatbelt method a pain in the ass and definitely not as sturdy
As it says in the description, ISOFix is not rated to support the weight of an 8 year old….
"No - seats designed for older children cannot have ISOFix connectors due to vehicle anchorage point weight limits"
No 6m - 8yo forward facing has ISOFix. Something to do with ADR.
Well there you go! I did now know that, but I suppose it makes sense.
My point still stands though. I have had to take the seat in and out a lot when we moved house, and then picking up new furniture etc. and wowzer what a pain it was. The other car with the 0-4yr isofix chair is so much faster
Cant seem to get delivery to my address. Does anyone else have this problem?
Baby Bnuntings has it for $329
https://www.babybunting.com.au/product/infasecure-emerge-cap…
SKU CS9013CP2.MINI SWIRL https://infasecure.com.au/products/emerge-caprice-mini-swirl
Infasecure's recent safety recall https://infasecure.com.au/pages/product-safety-recall
So the Emerge Caprice is also called the Accomplish Premium?
SKU for both are CS9013.
I think the Grandeur Astra at $380ish or even the Achieve at $479 is better value as they are ERF. It was under $400 the other week though, so worth keeping an eye out for.
What's ERF?
Extended rearward facing
Meaning they can accommodate a larger child whilst still being rearward. Whilst you can technically turn them forward from 6 months if they meet the markers, it's not the safest option as they have no strength in the neck for the weight of their head at that age.
Thank you, this is great to know!
Any tips for keeping a 2 year old rear facing staring at a seat of a car for any length journey ? Don’t use screens in cars to keep them occupied
Do you have a mirror on the headrest?
Ours have generally been fine with the odd toy or whatever
We bought two InfaSecure Grandeur Astra's for ~$370 each pre-Covid to use on Darwin to Sydney road trip. They were reasonably comfy but were dirty as hell at the end of the road trip. :)
For all infrasecure seats, I keep getting the message that they can’t deliver to my address in Wyndham Vale
I wouldn't recommend forward facing at 6 months. Based on experience. Their posture isn't good enough.
