Booking Layover/Stopover in Singapore for 3 Days

Planning to book return trip (Syd - Sin - Mumbai).

But would like to have 3 days of stopover in Singapore for tourism purpose during return trip from Mumbai. Any idea if I can simply book this through "return" flight or need to choose "multi-city" flight option?

I cannot find any way to choose the second leg (Sin-Syd) of return trip ( Mum-Syd) as late as possible. Does any one know if the stopover is over X hrs/days then we need to book flights through "multi-city" option?

  • Yes you'll need multi-city option.

    • Thanks for your quick response, do you know what is the max duration of stop-over if not done via multi-city?
The reason I am asking is, multi-city is bit expensive than return, so trying to workout the options.

      • Depends on airline, usually they give you an option of available next-leg flights within 24 hours.

        • I see, im trying to find i for Singapore Airlines …looks like 24hrs then

  • If you're booking directly with Singapore Airlines there should be a stopover option button when just booking a return Sydney to Mumbai flight. From memory it comes up after you select your outbound and return flights. It says something like "add stopover" - you should then be able to add this into your booking. It won't be offered if you're not booking directly on the Singapore Airlines website.
    Good luck

    • thanks for the tip :)

    • have you ever encounter SQ mix scoot flight with free seats selection / meals included , but not prompted to choose seats/meals during booking

after booking , it did mention go to scoot website to choose seats/meals by manage booking

but scoot still asks for extra payment fees after selecting seats/meals ?
