15" FHD Laptop with Good Battery Life and Lite

Looking for a laptop satisfying the above criteria. Needs to be liteweight as I'll be using it on my lap and will need to run at full screen brightness for at least 5 hours – over 400 nits woud be ideal or if lower non-reflective.

I've already got a few smaller smaller laptops however the 15" screen is a requirement for this use case.

I'll be using it for remote work (Citrix) and browsing the web along with streaming.

Trying to keep the costs low and if possible from JB Hifi given vouchers.

This is the best I've been able to come up with so far so your thoughts would be appreciated.

  • How much are you willing to spend? Under $1K like the laptop you linked to?

  • Pretty much every HP under like $1500 has a TN display if it's not disclosed, which is really not pretty. I'd definitely avoid.

At this price range I'd probably be looking at a Dell Inspiron or a Lenovo Ideapad directly from them. Maybe even a refurb.

Edit: This one might be good? Specs seem decent and it does have an IPS display.

    light not lite
    lightweight not liteweight

    • Maybe OP is looking for a low fat/sugar laptop. Hard to find nowadays.

Intel NUC M15? 460 nits and a gigantic 73 watt hour battery.

Still available for $1249, no free delivery but postage is currently $5.99 flat rate.

That HP has a 250 nit 45% NTSC display. Most likely it is an IPS panel but that 250 nit display is probably one of the reasons that laptop can be sold so cheaply.

  • Lenovo carbon x1
    Refurbished on ebay
Once you use the keyboard you'll never go back
