You won't get CR or SB's 2.8% cashback though, as it is using an unlisted discount code.

The code comes from Digidirect's 48 hours of 5% off Sony promo.

*Terms and conditions apply. 5% off Sony for 48 hours at digiDirect. Pre orders excluded. While stocks last. Must end 11:59pm Wednesday 20 April 2022.

Absolute record low price, I bought mine for $4900 and thought that was a good deal.

If you've been eyeing the A7S III definitely pick this up.

    Don't forget Qantas points.

Now if only the Canon R5C would go on sale sometime… glorious Canon colors + professional photo camera + 8K60 RAW + RF/EF mount.

      I bought mine for $4900

      III definitely pick this up

Why do you need 2 out of curiosity?

      • Not sure why this got downvoted, I chuckled at this.

thanks OP bought one as my clients have been requesting higher quality feet pics.

    A7S IV around the corner?

    • +1

Highly unlikely. The A7S iii came out towards the end of 2020; 5 years after the A7S ii (released on October 2015). To release an update now would be a drastic change to the product's lifecycle.

      • it's not improbable, α7S III was already a drastic change to the products lifecycle
        α7S announced 6 Apr 2014, α7S II —> 11 Sept 2015, α7S III —> 28 Jul 2020
α7R IV come as a surprise before the α7S III announced 16 Jul 2019

  • Wish the A7R IV were on sale…would prefer the higher Megapixel count to this model.

    • You could just split the difference and get the A7IV, it’s a fantastic camera. Entirely a different beast to the III

  • The usual caveats with Digidirect is that they often don't have accurate stock levels. Even if you chat to a sales person they always say there's 1 in the warehouse but your order can often go to backorder.

  • Good luck getting Qantas points from digiDirect. Never got the points for the lens I ordered from them as Qantas had no record of the sale despite linking my account with digiDirect and accessing the page through the mall.

    • I received points months after my purchase (I think approx 6 months). May have to play the waiting game.

  • Anyone know if Sony price match this?

    • Assuming it's local stock, don't see why they'd decline the price match request

      • I don’t think they price match when using a discounted code…

        • ahh true story! my bad

@debitbankcharges: Having said that, a savvy buyer would get Sony to price match at the current ad price, $4599, then stack with CRs current 8% cash back, just have to wait 2 months to get it 😉

@Buy2Much: Remember, there is AMEX targetted deal - Spend $500 get $75 off. I did the same trick for my Sony lens. Price matched from Digi, 8% cash back, and Sony AMEX deal.

  • 😐😐😐
    Must…. Not…. Spend… 4400$….

  • So I tried to price match with the code at Sony just out of curiosity. This is Sony’s canned response:

Since the retailer that you have selected is a parallel importer, we are not able to match the price. Currently, overseas sellers/importers of Sony products are not eligible for price matching.

Either the Sony presale staff is useless as usual, or digidirect Is indeed a parallel importer, I am sure it is likely the former.

    • 2 weeks ago I was able to price match a lens at Digidirect through Sony online. Went through quickly and with no issues price matching. That's so weird and inconsistent. But maybe lenses are different?

      • So did I in the past. I think this Sony presale person was not willing to price match with an extra 5% off code, but too lazy to explain or find the right canned response so just pressed the easiest auto response without thinking further…

Thanks OP. Found out on the Cashrewards site that SONY5 is an approved code, so you can get a further 2.8% off with clicking through them. Brings total down to $4,250.
