650

I have been waiting for the Breville Barista Pro for some time since last year's deals. So this is the closest deal one can get if you're in the market to upgrade from entry level barista machines. Unfortunately, only red velvet colour available. You pay $849 (click & collect) and receive $100 store credit back (C&C credit offer expires 8/5), plus $240 worth of bonus from Breville through Redemption (finish on 15th May). Info link below:

Sorry if I miss anything. Enjoy the deal!

    red though

    • It's a great colour for kitchen appliances. But not so much for coffee machines.

      • Please explain?

This is a kitchen appliance. If you have a red toaster a red kettle, etc, then this would surely suit as long as the reds are similar.

        • +3

That was my point. It looks great with the rest of kitchen appliances, if you have similar colours (I happen to have red kitchen appliances).
As a coffee machine on its own though, I'd prefer black or stainless.

    Wish it was in Black

    • $917 on GGC

      That's what he said.

Really good coffee machine, we love it!

  • +1

Would rather a $240 gift card over a bonus gift pack (which is just coffee, glasses and some masterclass). They actually call it worth $395 on the bonus page for their higher end models, $240 for this (which doesn't include the masterclass).

    • +3

We all know they slip a decimal point when they say what these are worth.

    • +1

I got the bonus gift pack with my Oracle, it wasn't worth $395 but they did give you some decent stuff worth maybe $200? I use it all except for the master class because it was always during work hours, thought I would do it at Christmas time and then they stopped running the classes over Christmas lol

      • +1

The coffee that came with the Oracle was the Saint Ali Wide Awake which was way nicer than a lot of the other coffee ive tried. They managed to send it out really fresh too. Between 1 - 2 weeks from roast date sent out to regional WA. As soon as a Saint Ali deal comes up on here again, ill probably grab a year sub of Wide Awake :)

        • +1

Yeah I was impressed they sent them out fresh, I was expecting some stale old crap haha

    JB, you've done it again!

    Store credit… Not appealing

  • These look small v the BS920 in store.

    • Completely different machine internally from the BS920.

  • Why is this better than express?

      Quick bullet point comparison:

      Pro VS Express

      • Looks like a no brainer for the Pro (if you can afford the extra $$$)

        • I think so. Maybe more to see if it's worthwhile upgrading? We have an Express that's gone the journey. Still hoping it last for a bit longer as we're still unsure of the upgrade path we would take. Prices overall are still a little high.

  • Still annoyed about price changing from 849 to 949 when I was finalising purchase. It was during a 15% off sale (15% off 849 for black truffle version) and $100 credit + bonus pack. And most of payment was gift cards :|

  • i got one a few weeks ago at $849 with the bonus gift pack.. excellent machine! highly recommend it, easy to use and makes a great caffe`
as im writing this i am drinking my Cappuccino!
    shame i missed the $100GC

  • I've got one of these but it's got an issue where it beeps and doesn't complete the cycle once the pressure starts to come up. I've googled it a bit and it seems to be a reasonably(?) commmon issue with these. Mines way out of warranty and it happened during lockdown so I've just gone back to an older machine until I get time to either bin it or try to fix it.

    • Pressure during extraction? Which leads to fail?
Could you try a flush cycle? Is the grind too fine?

      • Essentially almost immediately after the pre-infusion step or a few seconds in. Once it starts the stop/beep cycle not working thing it does exactly the same thing with the flush/descale etc processes. I was able to get it working once after 20 or so attempts at flush/descale and it went 3 months before doing the same hting again. But now I can't get it to work. I've tried all the combinations of flush etc with/out the basket on 50+ times.

        • Damn. Assume when you don’t attach the portafilter/basket and just hit extract it comes out no dramas given nothing there to provide resistance? Maybe your pump has packed it in.
What about when you attach the handle/portafilter but don’t dose any coffee into it..does water still come through?

    • I had an issue like this. Turned out there is a small valve that gets blocked over time. It's a 5 minute fix but you do need to take the back off.

Just a note - this is a thermoblock machine. Its not on a par with the dual-boiler PID-controlled BS920 in any way.

    • They are 2 different machines with 2 different price point.

      • +1

Probably the same person pointing out there's no inbuilt grinder on every dual boiler deal

        • It's like trying to buy a car and someone yells out, BEWARE, THIS IS NOT A TRUCK!

          • @itstuan: Not really. The dual boiler is still a "car" with different fuel tank specs. Nothing wrong with the comment pointing out the difference.

            • @cerealJay: Nothing wrong with it and no doubt its comment came from good will. But probably an advice nobody asks for because for me it's obvious. If someone in the market for a dual boiler, they will look for a dual boiler. This Barista pro never advertised to be a dual boiler in any way.

    • To whoever knows the answer, is it this or the BS920 you want?

  • Shopback giftcards 3% cashback also

  • Any deals on the oracle ?

  • Great machine, got ours end of 2020 and is pumping out 5-7 great coffees a day

    • Self cleaning with 1 button?

      • +1

I wouldn’t say it’s as simple as one button. You will need to run flush and descale cycles, each with different steps. Descale you’ll need to add descale liquid to water reservoir and run through a number of steps. Flush cycle is a little simpler - add blind filter, add tablet, select flush cycle from menu

  • Got my BB+ when eBay screw up their discount code:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/687909

Then complete my setup with a SGP at TGG price matching Bing Lee plus $30 sms credit this weekend. $620 for a seperate setup… not bad. IMO a better combo than this one, but that is just me.

Now just have to wait for good beans on sale….

    • How is your setup treating you? I am awaiting delivery on exactly the same items, Bambino Plus and SGP and can't wait.

      • Well the BB+ was great eapecially I gone stingy for the past few years with a cheap sunbean then a semi auto from Kmart, which is both good given the price you pay for them.

The BB+ does make way better coffee and bring me back to the days of my second hand Jura Z7. This is with just pre ground and pressurised basket.

Waiting now for a good bean sale to test out the SGP and brew with BB+ with the bottomless baskets.

Given experience share by other user here, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just ignore the nobs who thinks everyone should mod their machine and grind to micrometer perfection.

  • This is now even better with 15% cashback at Shopback today! Pulled the trigger!

(And don't forget $20 cashback on top of that with Zip)
