    Good find ser

  • Good deal but then again if this Gigabyte quality is good?

    • -1

      Gigabyte quality is good?

Gigabyte is good but not sure about this card.

    • +1

      Gaming OC is alright

    • It's fine, just comparatively larger.

  • +17

"Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months" that is a deal breaker

    • +6

the price could drop further in next 1-2 months

      • +3

you can always cancel/return if you find a lower price. so may not be a deal breaker for others.

      • -5

Cheeky way to hold onto money because I'm sure they know customers can easily apply to cancel order up until it's shipped.

        • +13

Well Amazon don't charge until it's packed so I don't think that applies here

          • +1

            @WarriorZ: Oops, yeah, my bad.

I forgot they only charge up until shipping. 😅 I only use BNPY with Amazon so I didn't realise it works with all payment types. I'm fairly wrapped I don't see a charge until they've confirmed it being packed/shipped.

    • it's may not a deal breaker for hodlers. you can buy it now at this price then cancel/return if you find a much lower price.

  • +6

Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months, Amazon building these by hand in Aus ??

  • +3

Good find. For me shipping delay ruins it a 3060ti will be this price in 1-2 months.

Even so the asus dual is only $20 more. With gigabytes current rep I'd take the asus anyday.

    • Out of the loop on Gigabyte's bad rep

      • I've only seen it gain a lot of traction the past few weeks. They're not currently seen as reliable due to a lot of them breaking. Tbh I've seen a lot of broken gpu's from all makers.. enough for me to want at least 3 year warranty from any brand. Gigabyte could be overrepresented by online anecdotes. I do know EVGA/Gigabyte had thermal pad/power connector issues with ampere so the whole "they break" mentality could be blown out of proportion from that.

Heard stories of a lot of cards (particularly the eagle) already failing

  • Asus dual link?

    • -5

      Thats not asus… Its gigabyte

    • +1

not same, but in stock ready for delivery now.

      • I will pass gigabyte…

        • What's wrong with Gigabyte? I don't get why they've got such a bad rep

          • @Orion au: i've had 2 gigabyte cards fail on me (1 in warranty period and 1 outside of it)
dont blame me for not wanting another

            • @s1Lence: Yeah I can see why you're reluctant. Had you been putting them under heavy load? I've just bought a Gigabyte card myself so I'm curious.

              • +3

@Orion au: I have a gigabyte GTX1060 that's been going strong for about 5 years now if that's any consolation. It all seems very anecdotal.

                • @bananabendera: I also had a Gigabyte 1060 for 5 years which never had any problems but my Gigabyte 770 and 780 cards died (in 1 year and 2-3 years respectively). It is anecdotal but I am not going to keep buying from a company whose cards keep failing on me, even if statistically they aren't any worse than other brands.

          • @Orion au: Gigabyte is OK better than MSI, Asrock, I still prefer Asus

        • Gigabyte are alright for GPUs I’d go one of these but it won’t fit in my case. I had a 1070 that worked fine but developed a bit of coil whine only after 5 years. Also had a HD 6970 still kicking and sold it. Good temps on both and quiet. Their PSUs and entry mobos are trash to be avoided

  • msi is bad with overclocks… but gigabyte has bad rep… not sure why, afraid to buy… asus rocks

  • The price is right, but it seems silly to have a 3 fan version of cards the draw so little power…

    • +1

I'm running the Asrock single fan ITX version of the 6600XT and it copes fine with a heatsink that small, three is definitely overkill for this level of power draw.

      • Overkill is good though

    • not at all, would much prefer extra cooling than not enough, means the fans should not have to work hard.

      • I'm not advocating for 1 fan over 2, but we're well beyond diminishing returns here. AMD cards are more power efficient, and my desire for a 3 fan probably kicks in around the 3070 range (although 3060Ti is not unreasonable).

I'm not even convinced it would be quieter, given extra fans probably means extra noise beyond a certain point. There likely isn't enough heat being generated while gaming to saturate out to where the 3rd fan is most effective.

If you're manually overclocking maybe there's some value, but modern GPUs don't seem to benefit much from that, and tend to just generate a lot more heat and power draw for small increases in performance

  • +1

'Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months'

The price will be competitive for less than 1 week (actually umart is now already the same price)

Drop-ship trash shouldn't be allowed on OZB

  • +1

Wish EVGA cards would go on sale, as soon as I picked up my 1080 I was sold

    • +1

This deal is about 6600XT, does EVGA make AMD GPU?

  • They are only price matching umart, instore stock and no wait times. Why would you bother with this deal?

  • +2

I doubt there's much between the gaming oc and eagle, as such wouldnt the $499 be better?

Unless they have changed their policy in the last couple of weeks you can still select a story and order for delivery.

    • Wow, gpus are really decreasing 10% per 2 weeks.

I wonder can I return my unopened rx 6600 from centrecom eBay 2 weeks ago?

      • I bought the same card for $460 using a coupon during Easter. They have a 30 day change of mind policy so I'm contemplating if I should do the same but I'm assuming the shipping costs will negate any of the savings.

        • Honestly, I just want a smaller card to fit into a 7L itx case lol.

  • +1

It finally costs exactly what I paid for it on launch day !! :P

  • Anyone know what the performance difference is between a 6600 and 600XT? Because TechPowerup don't have the 6600 in their GPU database list.

  • +1

does the 3rd fan make it go faster? :D

    • if it runs cooler then it is possible to have more of headroom if the chip is capable, so lots of ifs

  • XT 6600 model is worth at least 20% more than amazon link, which is the standard 6600 model

  • price is now $519
