  • Is it $399 upfront for the phone then on the plan for 12 months, or is it $399 off the S22 prices?

    • $399 upfront for the phone then on the plan for 12 months

    • 399 for the phone upfront then your plan price

Maybe 1 or 2 months until 199 if U can hold

But pretty good if U need a phone now

      • Do you work at JB and know it's only two months away? Or is that the assumption given that EOFY is coming?

        • Nope don't work there. Eofy best bet guess 👍

Currently waiting for $400- $500 GC for 12 months sign up on the WA Optus deal

Optus been pretty good tbh. Surprised actually given the feedback

          • +2

@agalea101: Yeah but Optus is with Hardly Normal… havent sent them business since GFC. Not looking to break that

  • Ported out from Telstra 3 days ago to Vodafone? do you think they will let me re-port in for this deal?

    • Isn’t it 30 days?

      • +5

Yeah 30 days. I ported out around 17 months ago, so I could port back in for one of these deals. And haven't found one that I liked yet. I was with Telstra for over a decade and would have stayed with them at the time if they gave these deals to their customers. Absolutely moronic to force customers away so they can get deals with the same company they were already on.

        • It's all so they can spruik their "new customers" figures in their board reports.

  • +1

I wonder if this deal also qualify for the $100 gift card as well? When purchase outright $100 gift card is included. This would sweeten the deal

The staff will put the GC in his pocket. They did that to me before two yr ago

      • Is that staff in jail now?

        • Pretty sure $100 is under threshold for grand larceny especially given inflation rates today :) maybe civil court?

          • @OzCheapo: But if they did it multiple time then it's a different story right?

            • @nightelves: Hard to prove. Also confirmed from JB store member that you cannot get the $100 GC if getting this plan

      • Press X for doubt

  • Can get the $10 credit per month on this? Have to ask through chat or in store too?

    • +1

For me it was an easy process via Telstra chat once the number had ported over to them.

      • Got this deal yesterday and btw you have to get the phone at the same time to get the $400 off.

Chatting to Telstra right now they said that they can only apply the $120 credit after the second bill payment because it needs payment history, and they cannot do a $10 monthly as it will void the contract or something like that. But yeh you just ask for it and they will do it :)

        • Just curious, What is the excuse for asking $10 credit?

          • @Smallman: I want to know as well

            • @casmxl: Would also like to know… I tried in the chat saying my friends received a $10 monthly credit and was asked for a promotion link… Was offered $5 off for 6 months but might try my luck again later

              • +1

@clam08: I just said the JB hifi consultant told me that a $10 a month discount will be applied and i wanted to check it and the consultant just added $20 a month off to all my plans (2/3 in total) and applied a $40 a month off for the last account.

                • @n412io: $20 and $40 a month off the $69? So $49 and $29 a month? How??

                  • @Jewdas90: Yeah $20 off the $69 plan so $49 a month and $40 off the 99 plan which was then $59 a month.

                    • @n412io: But…how??

                      • @Jewdas90: i didnt really ask. Once i asked for one to be applied he just started going through my account and adding the random discounts to every phone number i had.

                • @n412io: Thanks! Didn't get quite as lucky… but did manage to get the $10/12 months on my third try :)

          • @Smallman: I guess it's luck of the draw but I just asked if they could apply it. I literally just said "hi there I would like to get the $10 monthly credit applied to my plan. Could you please help me with that?". She asked how I heard of the plan deal and I just said in store at JB. That's it.

They also have a $900 gift card towards s22+ on 69x12 month plans at JB now.

Amazing deal, going to get it then return the s22+ at another store and retain the $900 card. So I'll be $72 up after the 12 months !

    • Did you have a photo, or link? Can't find it anywhere

      • +1

Sorry should have taken a screenshot of his screen.
Call JB Hifi and ask them perhaps.
I was at Chadstone/Holmesglen superstore in Melbourne

        • +1

          It worked, thanks

    • I have not seen this $900 GC at Jabhi fi for s22+

      • I have got to go back to JB today to buy something else, I'll see if I can post a screenshot

      • I didn't make it in there, but $900 off the S22+ is only $50 better than this deal which is $850 off a S22.. they've definitely got it

I am bit confused? why this is good deal, when you have to pay for the (1249-399/-) and 69 X 12. = which comes to 140/- per month

    am I right?

    Assuming phone price - 1249/-

instead, if buy outright with "buy now pay later" 12 months instalment plan, and 90/- for 365 days prepaid might be much cheaper for average person.

    or am I missing something?

    • +1

You only pay $399 for the phone and take up the $69 plan for 12 months.

  • Thanks you amshopping for clarifying, I check the website and could not find such a deal, is it possible to update the link here, catelogue link only take to plan page

  • Thank you very much VPN

  • They dont have free phone deal with telstra plan anymore? And then cancel the plan pay $600
    Oh good memories…..

  • This seems pretty good, total cost after 12 months is $1227. Essentially paying off the phone over 12 months, and it comes with 100gb/month. Better than buying the phone outright and then paying for a plan on top.

  • Whats the deal with the JB deals if you break the contract these days, thinking about actioning this deal but there is a chance I could be moving overseas in ~8 months.

  • Does this support esim?

  • This ends after tomorrow.

Does anyone think this is worth it to jump on now or wait for a better deal in the coming months?
