I somehow managed to fit this in a Land Cruiser last year. Guys did not want to play ball but I convinced them to let me take it. TV has been great. Not the absolute best image quality like OLED but it's a huge TV with a good price. Smart features are kinda eh (no Disney+ app) so I'd recommend a Chromecast or Apple TV to plug in

    • +4

Disney+ has been added to Hisense TV's. Though like you said, I'd also recommend buying a Chromecast or Apple TV. VIDAA OS is pretty bad.

    • Upgrade your firmware for Disney+, don't expect any other decent apps though. I was hoping for Binge etc.

    • I use Google TV on my Q8 and its the best decision I’ve ever made. Don’t have to deal with Hisense’s shitty os

I dont need a new TV and have 2 55" non smart TVs but these prices are almost getting me to crack and get a new one.

    • +3

      Be sensible! Get the 85…

      • If the 85" was $1500 I would be all over it

      • -6

Yes, get lg c2 77 or above

  • -7

    Is this good for mspaint.exe?

  • -3

Cheap, but it is a Hisense.

    • +1

      Less cents

I have always believed a Hisense and a 'reputable' brand at the same price; the Hisense is almost always a better option. For the price of a mid range Hisense, you'd likely be getting an entry level Samsung/LG/Sony which would most likely have a compromise such as edge lit/no local dimming/a worse panel etc. Hisense also comes with 3 year warranty. You can't really go wrong.

Of course hunting for the best screen where price isn't a consideration, the big brands are where it's at.

      • +2

Absolutely, Samsung and Sony sell a lot of crap in their lower-mid range lineup.

Exclusively crap more like it. Their high end stuff is a different matter

      • Totally agree. A year ago I bought a 65Q8 and couldn't be happier!

  • Got this when it was for $850 at Costco. Absolutely love the tv!!! Not sure why someone complaining about not being able to watch Disney+, I am watching something on Disney+ as I type!!!

    Highly recommend this tv!!

    • 75 inch? Or a smaller size

      • Always go bigger if it allows.

        • +9

I think HelloOzB was asking if Dev Gill bought a 75" or smaller model for $850

  • +3

I own the U7G and no issue so far. Pretty happy with the purchase. But A7? I will have to consider other options.

    • Is it bright enough and decent motion in dark scenes? I've got a U8G coming next week to replace a faulty older model and I've been reading that the panel on these isn't great, but that might just be in comparison to the superior US model. Thanks.

      • I have read that U7G and U8G comes with IPS panel in AU version and the contrast is not as good as VA panels.

  • +2

How will it compare to my TCL C727 with full array and vrr etc

    • +2

Worse, it has neither of those things

  • -1

$100 and you can get a $100 Samsung through their EPP

    • +1

      ???

    • Where? How?

  • resist, i must

  • Anyone know if HiSence Tv's can display 1080p at 120Hz from a Computer? I know that in Australia manufacturers always quote either 50hz or 100Hz (and 200Hz Motion Bullshit etc) all being multiples of 50Hz due to terrestrial broadcast in Australia still being at this frequency rather than 60Hz in the US for example.

But Tv's are used for a lot more than just standard TV signals these days and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with getting a 120Hz refresh rate from one of these or a similar TV's?

  • $1118.41 (after $176.60 cashback) via Shopback

    Must… Resist…

  • TGG is showing up as $1,191.40 with code TOPITUP. Add $55 shipping would take it to $1241.40.

Thankfully holding off for a bit made it a bit cheaper buying direct from the site with 15% cashback from Shopback.

    $1295 + $55 Shipping = $1350
    $1350 - 15% cashback ($202.50) = $1147.50

    • Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt cashback calculated before gst and shipping?

      • Cashback will not be paid on delivery or GST, and sales amounts may be altered within the system to account for this.

Looks like you're right on that 😅 Now I have to figure out if I'm at least ahead on the eBay deal or not

      • I save a little bit more compared to eBay, unless my math is totally off here.

        GST: $1295 / 11 = $117.72
        Price minus GST (excluding shipping) = $1295 - $117.72 = $1177.28
        Cashback: 1177.28 * 15% = 176.59
Original Price including GST + Shipping = $1350
        Final price - Cashback = $1350 - $176.59 = $1173.41

  • both OOS now. Hopefully more be added
