Is There a Way around 'Fulfilled by Amazon UK' Products Having Huge Markups?

For example:

Amazon.com.au

AUD300, fulfilled by Amazon.uk

Amazon.co.uk

£93 = AUD165. Or really take another 10% of to be AUD150 if catering for the difference in VAT and GST.

Same product, amazon.com.au even comes with the UK plug.

$81 shipping on top if not in Prime, so it's not catering for shipping into the price.

And Amazon don't allow me to order from uk for delivery in Australia, as even $81 shipping would be cheaper than free on Prime paying $300.

Any method around this? Have used shipping forwarders in the US (no good for this product due to voltage) but not UK if there are any suggestions.

  • Did you check the UK version has a £90 delivery fee? Bulky item I guess. That price difference would be outrageous if it was for an microSD card.

    Uk one is used.
    It’s not like for like.

Ah, didn't spot that or even know Amazon fulfilled used items, but I guess they have to sell the returns so makes sense. US new typically USD100 so didn't contemplate £93 not being new.

Thanks. New appears to be £123 = AUD218 - still big difference for same product from same place.

  • Can't really help but sort of related, I've noticed some Amazon UK items that have free Prime shipping, lately when they go on sale shipping is no longer free. Had an item on my wish list for ~$60, noticed it had dropped 54% and went to grab it only to find it was no longer eligible for Prime shipping despite being sold for and shipped by Amazon UK which according to Prime membership should be eligible for Prime shipping (2 items so was even over the $49 limit) yet they wanted $130 shipping on top. Never used to be this way so it's only a recent change.

  • Its not a huge markup, that's the additional shipping to australia

    • Shipping is another $80 on top.

If the advertised price of $300 included shipping (or even some of it) then Prime members wouldn't be getting shipping for free as advertised.

The product listed in both or the links are 120v models so they will not work in Australia

    • Oh FFS, will have to ask customer support as every other Cosori I'd looked at on .com.au fulfilled by .co.uk is 220V, plus even this one states litres rather quarts. Suspect printing error. Even Aussie reviewer complained that it had a Euro plug (220-240V) rather than "doesn't work". But thanks, cancelled until I can confirm.

    • Confirmed typo by Amazon.
