Sony WF-C500 Truly Wireless Headphones (Black) $98 Delivered @ Sony AU eBay

210
TOP5IT

Sony WFC500B True Wireless Headphones Black, white also available.

RRP seems to be at $149 but JB, OW, and other retailers selling it at $98 as well, including Sony's official website. Amazon as usual trying to one up everyone else and sweetening the deal by shaving off just a dollar @ $97. Bought from eBay as I got 5% off using the "TOP5IT" coupon making the total $93.10.

The reviews seem to be very positive overall as some people claim this to be a cheaper/barebones version of the XM3/4's w/o the ANC.

This is IPX4 rated so its well protected from sweat while at the gym (main reason why I wanted a pair of earphones)

The only big downside (imo) is it's only Bluetooth 5.0 but overall the specs seem to be very decent with the added benefit of even customising EQ using their Sony Connect app.

More info on the earphones on Sony's website: https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/truly-wireless/wf-c500#p…

No ANC is a big disadvantage :(

    • There's plenty of other companies that provide ANC for a cheaper price point if that's your thing but doubt they'd sound as good as these would.

What's the battery life per charge without the case?
It's ok I found it, answer is 10-14 hours which is pretty awesome.
They also have ambient mode which is a feature that I really appreciate after using a pair without it for a long time it really makes a difference (if it actually works well) just being able to tap the left/right bud and be able to hear/have conversations without having to take one out.

I have a pair of these earbuds, I would say it’s worth it . Battery last around 10-15 hours, it sounds great too . It doesn’t have anc but it’s block some of your surroundings sound .

I would rate these for listening to music but don't rely on them for calling as I have found the mics to be pretty ordinary. They still work for an occasional call but not a replacement headset if your on the phone all day.

Love mine - got them from JB I think for the same price. Very comfortable and good quality sound. Would recommend learning all the touch commands as it makes things easier..

I don't like ANC as I like to walk with them on and need to hear traffic, bikes and other things approaching me!

And yes with calls the other person seems to struggle to hear me but can hear them fine, so as noted I think the mics are weak.

  • These suitable for jogging?

I use these for running and find them to be pretty good. When I first started using them they were hurting my ears on my longer runs, but now they feel fine for up to a couple of hours. Sometimes I'll have to readjust them, but they have never fallen out.

Have these, they're great for the price. Highly recommend.

I noted your valuable insights in another post a few weeks ago, but didn't get around to buying them yet. You said $97 then though, I wonder if these can be had anywhere for less than this price?

At the time, JB hifi were providing these for 97. I wouldn't exoectbthebprice to get any lower since RRP is 150 for these. If I were you I'd snap them up for $98.

Looks like it's also $98 at HN, JB, OW and Amazon.

    • Found anywhere cheaper or coupon codes?

I showed a staff member at JB Hi-Fi in Belconnen ACT a cheaper advertised price, and JB HI-Fi matched the advertised price with the Good Guys' $98 AUD. I use this device for the gym, it fits nicely. I haven't tested the battery life in full, but from what I have experienced, 10+ hrs seems true. I like that JB-Hi 5 provides receipts to email and I think they are really good with post purchase support, especially for warranty purchase from past experience. Case advertises 10hr+ battery and the pods have 10hr+. I also use these earphones for podcast which is great. For under $100AUD, I cannot complain. There are no ANC but for this price, I am happy with the sound quality. Bass is missing compared to JBL 115 in which I lost the charging base.

  • Just bought these from Amazon and they have a perceptible hiss. Not too bad but its definetly there. This has happened with some other buds I bought before like Creative outlier and Soundpeats .

My Galaxy Buds and Buds plus and Sony WH1000-XM4 do not have any hiss.

Might return these even though sound is good. Sigh!!

    • Is it possible that this noise is caused by the device you're using? Maybe try connecting to a different device and see how it works?

Got mine a week or 2 ago and I've been very satisfied with it. Tuning up the sound via the app definitely helped and upped my listening experience!
