Checkout the review from Luke. I had no idea what this really was to be honest until reading that and seeing the photo.

Sold me on it, I thought why would I pay $15 when you can get these things for $4 at most discount stores but after that review I decided why risk it on a cheaper one.

Hey that’s me! It was perhaps a bit over the top, but honestly it really did bring my favourite shorts back to life. You know you’ve got that one pair that when you put them on you just feel free and in complete comfort. Unfortunately mine were a real weird material that were absolute pilling machines.

Hope others enjoy the sound it makes, it really is very satisfying… something I use very infrequently, but sure does bring me some joy when I do (also saved my favourite jacket, though that is down to three microns thick at this point so probably the one and only time I’ll use it on it).

    • I hate you. I bought one

Can unfortunately make clothing worse as well. Depends on the material really so be careful.

    • Is it the case where, for certain materials you just don’t use it (e.g. 100% cotton) or is it certain blends, or really just trial and error?

Also available from Myer at the same price ($15.96) with free C&C, if you have one nearby, also accepts CBA reward points.

But these are very simple devices, don't require particularly sharp blades or high torque motors, so the ones from bargain shops would work just as effective.

Finally…the Eneloops have been waiting in the drawer. :D

    • Thanks for this! I've organised a C&C.

These are great but invest in the rechargeable version. They work brilliantly.

Everything is the rechargeable version when you join the Eneloop cult 😉

  • Have this and it works so well. Easy to know which material it would work on.

Highly recommend, especially before winter clothes kick in

  • This thing paired with some Eneloops is outstanding. Way better than the cheapo knockoffs, no regrets with this one!

Got this to get rid of cotton pills on my sofa. Works great! Not too sure about the long term effect on the fabric though

Haven’t bought many better things for $15 than this. Can highly recommend!

I bought one last time. Tested it and never used it since. I'm sure I'll find a use one day…

  • I have no idea so I'll ask. Would this work for tidying up arms of a couch where a cat has scratched it up a bit? Lol

    • Yes. Will work a charm

    • It depends how bad it is. Normally this is just for pilling (little knot balls on the fabric). I have a couch that's severely scratched (strings coming out) it will just jam and stop the motor on these, it can maybe handle strains shorter than 1cm but anything longer you'll need a wahl hair trimmer.

  • Thanks OP. Gonna try this on some bed sheets that started to pill up even when very new. Bought percale specifically because it is supposed to pill less but was disappointed with the product - should have sent them back but (revoke my OzB license) cbf…

    • It's going to take you HOURS haha. Even a sock takes a few minutes.

      • How about…. "well there's good news and bad news…."?

Anyway, it is not all over the whole sheets, it is just little human shapes in the middle :-)

  • This makes my IKEA sofa new again

  • Got one from the last time this was a deal and was super surprised just how well they work.

These are a must have. I didn't know I needed one until it was purchased. They perform brilliantly and revive clothing, bedsheets, donna covers, etc. Pretty much any fabric that tends to pill with wear. Just buy this if you don't have one.

  • I bought this when it last came up on OzBargain, it's very handy to have around, made all my jumpers look brand new. I find myself reaching for it anytime pills start forming on my clothing. Like others have mentioned, it might ruin some clothing, however, I haven't experienced that yet. Definitely worth the $15.
