Good price on these. I just got the Mackie 450s for $200 from a recent post but might have preferred these

  Good sound and good value on these, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary with after sales support.
  These are not very sturdy. So adjustment system broke pretty quickly - AKG did not want to help, later, foam liners that are underneath the pillows that go over your ears turned into mush and contaminated the speakers - AKG did not want to help either. Maybe, it has something to do with the fact that it was sold to Harmann…

    If you bought them from Amazon UK, AKG Australia won't help you with a warranty claim.

    The rest of this reads like you need to replace the pads from wear and tear.

      The pads are fine. There are foam liners underneath the pads, which seat directly on speakers membranes. They turned into grease. Have not seen foam do it before.
      There is adjustment system above your ears (look like two clear plastic guides) they cracked and broke after about 6 months use.

        Oh so a dampening material, or at least something to help the driver coupling. If they were bought via an Australian store front, AKG would have helped you with the foam part, 100%.
