These thieving dogs will never get a cent of me moneys I tells ya!

    • +11

Secretly buys everything from HN/JM/Domayne 😂

      • +25

The last thing I bought at Harvey Norman was a monitor about 7 years ago because it was on a steep discount… when I went to pick it up some twit salesperson goes "That's pretty cheap, I'm going to make sure that's the real price" he (profanity) off to go launch his "investigation" takes about 20 minutes and comes back and goes "wow that was the real price… that's pretty cheap"… honestly the store and service was like stepping back in time about 20 years… I've never been back.

      • +5

We’ll youuu just lost yourself a customer!
Sorry Homer, you’re gonna have to speak up

      • They still have Joyce Mayne's? Hahaha, they used to look outdated 30 years ago.

      • +5

While sitting on his IKEA couch, typing on his Apple Phone buying thing from Amazon…. All of whom transfer hundreds of millions in profits offshore to dodge tax in Australia.

There are no saints out there, all the same so I'll go with the best deal.

    • I mean, I don't like them either. But what does that have to do with whether or not it's a good deal?

      • +8

Dealing with the devil changes the offer, obviously.

    • new here. what did they do?

    • +1

I know OzB hates uncle Harvey, but always wondered if it was just how they do things in general or was there a specific example/incident that turned the hate up to 100?

      • +7

Yeah that one time he got GST introduced on everything bought overseas instead of it being just things over $1000.

So you can thank him next time that gets added to your online order.

        https://www.smh.com.au/money/tax/the-300m-gst-grab-hardly-an…

      • +5

The fact that we are taxpayers and he scammed us out of $22 MILLION dollars (job keeper) and he campaigned the government to add GST to every thing we buy from overseas to keep his ridiculous empire from going under.

        • Ahhhh that’s right. Forgot about the GST campaign. Well that’s fair enough. Thanks for the info peeps. I’m joining the (profanity) Gerry Harvey wagon!!

          • @[Deactivated]: Worth noting that these are recent examples of a dinosaur whos personality has been consistent if nothing else. The F**k Gerry Harvey bandwagon is so old it's basically part of Australian heritage at this point.

            • @Joku: Hahah fair enough. I felt a little in-Australian for a moment there but back on the right path. Now it’s just a matter of time though. No tactics are going to save brick and mortar chains from the way the world is progressing. He made more than enough $ anyway. He should just ride off into the sunset.

PSA: Wear the Wrist Strap or this will happen to your TV

    • +12

      Mate I feel like it's 2007 again

      • Basically a repeat of Wii Sports.

      • wiibrokeit.com was a laugh

      • +1

Yea we are about to enter another recession!

        • we already are in one lol

          • @AustriaBargain: Maybe it's because I graduated in 2007 but this doesn't feel like a recession to me. Just more of the same. I probably won't own a house but I do have a car and a switch, so I'm ok.

            • @kmish: At this rate nobody will be able to afford an apartment. I work for the government and still don’t make enough for a simple 1 bed 1 bath. Studio apartments where I live are going for $800/mo

              • @AustriaBargain: Studios are going for 1,100 in my area. A 2 bed apartment is like 1,600. It's pretty ridiculous

              • @AustriaBargain: Per month? Anything for $200/wk is bearable. You don't get cheaper than that unless shared housing.

      • don't need to look that far… my daughter did the whole Wii controller into the TV whilst playing bowling at the start of the pandemic lockdown

    • +2

Yeah I had my strap on (heh) straight away. No way I was risking it. Bowling has been pretty fun so far though.

      • They dumbed it down as you no longer need to release the button to release the ball.

        • Yeah that threw me out a bit. Feel like it would be better with the release.

          • @Damannation: Similar with tennis too. You no longer need to press the button to toss the ball up to serve. Why remove that?

    • +2

Oh, you need a strap on?

      • +2

        Fnarr Fnarr

  • +9

I was keen for last deal didn't manage to get it. This time I have no interest weird

    • It's pretty fun, being a Nintendo published game can't see a repeat of the previous deal again or the price dropping sub $50 anytime soon especially with a gift card.

    • +2

I still hVe it in the cart but decided not to buy this.

Lots of items locked behind online which you needs NSO sub to play (i subbed with a couple of friends for 2 years then stopped because we didnt use it, except for saves)

      • Lots of items locked behind online which you needs NSO sub to play

        Like what? Online play?

        • THE BAD
          - Nearly all unlockables and Pro Leagues are gate kept behind online modes, and then only with randoms can you actually unlock anything

          Link (3.5/5 review): https://www.vooks.net/nintendo-switch-sports-review-in-progr…

Also NintendoLife gave it 6/10. They normally give decent games 8

          • @bheart: I heard you could play against bots offline for the unlocks also.
Reviews aren't swaying me at this price but that's because I still have the classic set up on my wiiu.

          • @bheart: The random isn't that bad. It's not like loot boxes where you get repeats. Each "roll" will always give something new because the ones you own is taken off the list of rewards.

          • @bheart: Thanks not getting it then
I like the Wii Sports plus Resort better and customised Mii is better than these new designs

Wii is better than switch playing Wii sports

      • Fair call. I only plan to play it locally. Main reason I got a Switch was for the local/party games. Online doesn't look too appetising to me either. I got a 3 month voucher for free online and haven't bothered activating it yet (usually play PS online)

  • Amazon?

    • Would very much doubt they would match with a voucher/gift card. Would be an amazing deal if they did though.

  • +3

    last order still backordered.

    • This is being displayed in the description "Please allow up to 7 days for stock to arrive"

  • +1

Worth heading in store to check if there's any limited edition Monster Hunter Pro Controllers left in stock.

That's what I did with my voucher from the last deal. Ticket said $98, but scanned at $49.

All up, got Switch Sports and the controller for $77.

Controller isn't listed on the website

    • Which store is it ? Did they have any left ?

      • +1

        Got the last from Tweed

    • If thats the case it might also be also worthwhile asking for Zelda Skyward Sword HD Joy-Cons as they have also been discontinued

      • They are not discounted. I checked last week.

  • +3

If you use your Unidays $20 voucher at Amazon at their current price, you'll have it for $39 out of pocket.

  • yeah my amazon one will be here tomorrow so yeah …….

  • +5

Played it tonight for the first time.

It's pretty average to be honest. Badminton is pretty fun.

It really needs more games and more modes in each games. It feels barebones. Wii Sports Resort had wayyy more content.

Nintendo better give us lots of free DLC with this.

I got this for the $48 with $20 voucher deal and I I'm not sure if I got my moneys worth.

    • +2

yeah its pretty much Wii sports but on the switch.

    • On the plus side, Switch games hold their value so well, so you could probably sell it for $50 fairly easily and still have the $20 GC.

    • Yeah Wii Sports Resort is legendary

      • I need to bring back the Wii fit board so you can do snow boarding and skiiing as well as skatboarding. like on the orginal wii.

  • Kids loved it yesterday. No complaints here.

    • have they thrown a controller at the TV yet? :D

  • I pre-ordered this for $58 from Harvey Norman. Tried to price match when I collected it from the store and got a convoluted explanation from the manager on why this was not possible, and to speak with Harvey Norman Online. Now Harvey Norman online is telling me that it isn't possible because my order was placed more than 7 days ago. What non-sense. Anyone else encounter similar HN shenanigans?

    • Just return it and buy again through this deal.

    • I get it’s annoying , but the manager wasn’t inventing a story.
Its in their T&C’s. They’ll match a price drop within 7 days only. They’re franchised, so online is essentially a seperate store.

  • I am enjoying sports game on my Wii.

  • Good enough deal, hopefully it's good for the kids at heart as well!

  • +1

Pulled the trigger. Missed out on $48 deal with $20 voucher so $58 with $20 still good for $38

  • Might use the $20 voucher for when Mario’s strikers goes on sale ….do harvies price watch jb and Amazon?

  • +1

Love buying from Harvey Norman. They are the best and honest company in Australian retail market.

  • I don't mind the game to be honest. It's fun to go online and play against real people. The match making is super quick too so there's always someone to play against. For now anyway. Have been playing tennis and volleyball the most.

  • +5

I'll give a short review as I've played around 6-7 hours of it. The sports are fun and slightly more complexity compared to the original wii sports. However, if you are expending more depth than that, you will be disappointed.

Online was a big plus compared to the original, match making is fast and the lack of options to chat makes this game non-toxic as your options to communicate is limited by premade reaction faces. This to me is a big plus as I generally hate toxicity in online games. Even less toxic than rocket league.

Customisation is very limited without going online. However, when playing online, each game nets you around 30-100+ points depending on which game you play and the result of the game. Bowling elimination nets a lot. Every 100 points nets you a reward and you can choose which set to draw from. Not loot box as rewards is removed from the future pool. Each set has 16 rewards and collecting all nets you 2 more outfits.

Only NSO players can earn outfits quickly. Otherwise, I think it is only 1 or 2 outfits reward max per day

Each set is timed, first set expires 2 weeks from the launch of the game and second set expires 3 weeks from the launch of the game. I expect another set to be released coming Friday and every subsequent week. This would be a nightmare for completionist. But there is no method of using money which is good.

Overall, its fun if you set your expectations low. If you expect more than wii sport, I think you will be disappointed.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk

Rocket League is the most toxic game I have ever played.

      My 1500+ hours haunts me.

    • Sorry for the terrible writing. Was late in the night and typing on my phone. I hope the review did help some of you

    • Also, PSA : You can not party up with an online friend and play against other online players in Switch Sports

      Likely deal breaker for some

  • This will be the most traded in switch game of all time

  • +2

The Price has bounced to $68 now

  • There are people on gumtree/Fb marketplace selling the game with the HN sticker for $60. LOL!!

  • Interesting how they're selling more even though there are outstanding back orders from the $48 deal..

Either they have stock or not?

    • +1

It's backorder. "Please allow up to 7 days for stock to arrive"

  • +1

Played this on the weekend for the first time. Chamabra is absolutely amazing fun, I was a hot sweaty mess after a couple of hours of dueling. Then came the volleyball…. oh god 15yo Hinee came straight back out like it was year 10 Firsts comp all over again.

  • Played it last night. Is it any improvement on Wii Sports?

Pretty dire really. IMO of course.

    • Well we get 6 sports instead of 5.

However, wii sports had better variety of sports.

Badminton, volleyball and tennis are samey.

They have dumbed down some of the sports like tennis and bowling (Ie. Now you don't release the button to time the release of the ball).

This should be a local multilayer game first and foremost. I don't know why content is locked behind online.

There should be more modes and achievement unlocks in each sport to make it more fun. There's really not much there atm.

Gold is coming.. But why wasn't it there on release? Why do we need to buy the game and hope it's improved later?

Wii sports resort had double the amount of sports and it had alot more depth to it.

  • How do they send the voucher?

    • It's on a card when you pick up the game.

  • Didnt get my voucher in the delivery … onto support now…

    • Same here..
