Just purchased one of these for $3,735. I believe Mitsubishi is one of the more reliable fridge manufacturers out there with fridges made in Japan.
Most retailers are advertising this fridge for near $5k eg:

  • Harvey Norman: $4,899
  • Bing Lee: $4,999

I believe that there may be a newer series around the corner.
Worth noting that this price is only for the white. Silver is coming up at $4,361.

    Three of my friends are planning to buy three fridges. Still oscillating between Hitachi RZX740KA ($4600 still negotiating) or Mitsubishi MR-WX700C (or similar model.)

    Which one are you guys recommending?

    From my limited knowledge, I assumed Hitachi is the better fridge with a few extra features like the vacuum compartment and auto doors, however that comes at a premium. I think that this gen of Mitsus were being retired to make way for the new gen to catch up with the Hitachi. At the end of the day it came down to $$ for me and the extra features weren't worth the extra cash.
    As Kewlj says above, maybe the Hitachi's did have issues, as I don't hear them talked about as often.

    Fantastic fridge with thicker insulation to help keep things cool. Good energy rating as well. The hot to freeze section I haven't tried yet. Never thought I would see this on sale, slightly annoyed as this is a great price. Big on Japanese so soon after bought the made in Japan Mitsubishi MFZ-KW kit.
