Code appears to work on other Sonos products as well, such as the One SL

Sonos Sub Gen 3 goes from $1099 to $934 as well. Seems like a reasonable deal, thanks OP

Hows the sound quality (not install/setup) with sonos setup compared to samsung q50a

    • +2

      Do you mean q950a?

Dollar for dollar, samsung wins by a margin.

Edit: you may get marginally better sound with sonos, but at 2.5 to 3x the price.

      • -1

yes i dont know why these Sonos are so popular. Dollar for dollar they are always bad

        • +2

For me its the sonos software. its so good if you have multiple Sonos

          • @letthiswork1: This. Just works: multiroom audio, parents can use it, no farking remote for a million settings, fantastic night mode

        • Yeah for Sonos, you mainly paying for the ecosystem

        • They sound fantastic and Sonos setup is easy setup with no wires

      • yes Q950a. i have Q950a and very happy with it. Just wasnt sure if was a better deal to change over to SONOS. Guess ill stick with the Q950a

        • I'd love to get the Q950A particularly with the recent sales/clearance with Q990B coming out, but the biggest issue with the Q950A is how big the soundbar itself is. In a rental unit where we have to use our 75" Samsung MU6103's stand (it has legs on an angle), the soundbar either needs to be less than 10cm deep (to fit on the edge of our IKEA BESTA TV cabinet), or it needs to be not too wide to fit in between the legs. I also don't have anywhere to put the rear surrounds due to layout of room and also the desire to minimise cables/power cords/etc in the open area where our couch is.

Based on this, the Sonos Beam fits. The Arc does not. Given we're in an apartment with a new baby coming, no point getting the subwoofer either.

          • @jace88: For rears and sub I just cut the cords and joined into junction box so only need one powerpoint.

            • @kerim86: That's fair, but I literally have no way to run cables since there's nothing behind the couch - it's open into the entrance area. Unless I install cable covers on the ground or something but I find them really messy/awkward with the young kids running around.

  • Looks like they jacked up the prices? So after discount it's not worth

Edit: Nvm looks like Sonos increased their rrp?

    • Yeah, increased about 5 months ago :/

I purchased from VideoPro over the weekend and they believe the price was going to go up again in the next few months. FWIW I managed to get the 5.1 Arc set for $2650 ~$50 less than Good Guys.

        • Did you get $2,650 over the weekend? Their price is $2,850 now

          • @kev98: Correct they knocked a bit more off the current price of $2850 definitely worth heading in and asking for a deal.

        • Had good experiences with videopro in the past.

Prices rising happening all over the place, seen big jumps in power tools I had in my Wishlist by $40+

          • @thesainter: video pro has a backorder on sonos Beam fyi, i purchased a set like a month ago on backorder, and they recently told me they are getting stock into their warehouse on the 14/5

@albiilive: I am after twin pack of One SL, to add to my arc,sub - which would be $492 with this discount, decent price and will probably grab some

Edit: actually scrap that got 10% email from Selby bringing them to $441

    • +5

There use to be a time when as tech got older the prices would drop. e.g. an appliance released a year ago (1.5 years for arc) would generally be cheaper compared to when it was released. Not anymore.

Very frustrating, just like trying to buy a car nowadays

  • Can stack with Zip Pay for extra $20 off

  • Does this deal end today?

Edit: surround setup works out to be $2,700 which is decent by 2022 standards. $150 cheaper than videopro

    • @kev98: Yes. Today only offer.

    • Ask for a deal at Videopro they knocked it down to $2650 for me over the weekend. Of course your YMMV

  • Samsung q700a for $424 is a great price

    Sonos Roam - $217.84
    Down from $299
    -$44.95 using TOP15
    -$16.37 Shopback Cashback
    -$20 Zip Rewards

    • TOP15 is not a listed coupon in Shopback!

      • +1

I know, but it worked. Received email from shopback with the amount tracked on the transaction.

        • @sp432: Ah, no.

Tracking is not the issue. Tracking just means that the ShopBack and The Good Guys websites have communicated successfully and agree that you have clicked through via the cashback site and thus any qualifying cashback will be earned, after the claim period is up.

If The Good Guys have notified ShopBack that TOP15 cannot be stacked with cashback, and that is the reason the code is not listed, then you will only find that out after the claim period has expired and the cashback is rejected.

It is possible, however, that there has been a miscommunication between ShopBack and The Good Guys, and the code should have been listed. In which case the cashback will be credited to your account.

Don't forget that Sonos Arc only has one HDMI port (eARC). This is what made me not to shortlist Sonos when I was soundbar shopping.

    • This isn’t an issue if you have an eARC TV.

DTS:X pass through would theoretically be an issue with LG TVs however the Arc doesn’t support DTS:X anyway.

    • +2

It surprises me how few soundbars have multiple HDMI inputs. I made the mistake of buying our TV with only 3 HDMI ports (one of which is normal ARC) and regret having to use crappy third party switchers which can introduce flicker/artefacts on my XSX/PS5 content. For a while I used an AV amplifier to do this but upon downsizing and moving to another apartment, I got rid of this.

  • Yamaha YSP-2700 will be about $839.80. Pretty good price and includes sub.

    • Nice soundbar and price. Only thing is its not Atmos if thats important (TRIVIAL FOR SOME)
      Also this is discontinued now

    • Excellent sound bar and a good price too. Regular firmware updates from Yamaha but take note that Bluetooth integration with mobile phone is patchy at best and the Yamaha music cast app is abhorrent.

  • Won't let me add the beam to my basket. "Product cannot be ordered"

    • Keep trying.. You can buy it.. I just managed to buy a Sonos Arc after lots of try

  • if you say sonos is just by a margin to Samsung on sound quality then I'm getting it
