Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick

      • +1

        • +2

          Asgardians and perthians better
Asgardites, perthites.. sounds like some tick names

        • They want Ron's blood

    • I use that word too so it must be legit 😊 I can't wait to tell all my mates who laugh when I say it.

    • West Aussies; have lived in Perth for 30 years on and off and never heard anyone use any of the above terms. Maybe coz WA is a big State not defined by its capital city as much as some of our eastern cousins.

    • From Perth and "Perthian" is a fairly common term. It is kind of used in jest though.

  • Description says power delivery 3.0 … is it the type to charge laptops / notebooks ?

    • +1

Don't think so, I may be wrong but my laptop will require at least 30w power draw. You'll overwork this charger = potential fire hazard

    • As Keegs said, this probably wont work for most laptops.

The max output is 25W, so if it charges your laptop at all it will be about half speed. Check your laptop specs to see what Watts it requires to charge.

    • Short answer: no. Most laptops require 45w+.

It will also work to just charge a laptop while it's off, though slower.

The MBA would likely work with this with basic workloads, though, that may not be best practice.

I've plugged a MBP into a low wattage charger by accident a few times. It downclocks to the point where it's barely usable.

I've also read stories of people using phone chargers to recharge laptops on holiday if they've forgotten the properl charger.

    • Most laptops charge at 15-20V. USB is 5V.

      So this won't work.

      • +1

Most phones charge at more than 5V using the USB-PD standard. This even happened before USB-C with standards like Quick Charger.

        For this specific charger:

        Output Voltage (Max, Normal Charge)
        5 V

        Output Voltage (Max, Fast Charge)
        PDO : 9 V / PPS : 3.3-5.9 V or 3.3-11.0 V

        Output Current (Max, Fast Charge)
        PDO : 2.77 A(9 V) / PPS : 3.0 A(3.3-5.9 V) or 2.25 A(3.3-11.0 V)

They're located in Morley, for anyone wondering :)

Street View doesn't fill me with confidence though

I picked up something there last week. It's the building on the left with the "Secure Station" sign.

  • Shipping to east coast $12.99

    • Still for the shipping its not bad considering a genuine Samsung charger for S20 Ultra was $60 at JB

I called and the guy said it is not a genuine Samsung product.

    • Thanks, was about to buy. No deal if postage is needed.

    • Weird I went in brought 2 and the guys said they were genuine? They are plastic packed, don’t have in front of me, will inspect further..

Guy said they had thousands of orders, I explained why :)

  • These are NZ$17.50 delivered on the NZ Samsung student store. Might be a similar discount on the Aussie site?

    Model: EP-TA800NBEGAU

    • I got mine for AUD 17.50 half a year ago from Samsung EPP
