AH gad damnit why am I disciplined at the wrong time!!

  • Click and collect from what stores?

    • Broadway - others are listed as out of stock from what I can see

    • Whatever your local store was ("Ship to store"). Broadway was just chosen as an example.

      • Hmm, I don't have the "Ship to store" option

  • Now the page says "Something went wrong
    Please try again"

I can see the 'Recently Viewed Items' instead - a $19 Celsius 2000W Fan Heater

    oh ok what a jump

  • Target has removed the listing already

    And it's gone….

    All gone.
    Thanks Hamza.

It was not sold out before I posted it. I added it to cart, went to checkout and then went back and copy pasted the details into the post by editing it, all after I posted it initially.

I bothered because someone might see it in time and grab one. Even if it sells out quickly it's better to share than not share at all.

      • indeed, cheers to those like you that share, they will sell out quickly regardless.

    • It was available for at least 5mins after it was posted. That’s not bad considering some are gone in a matter of seconds.

You’re wrong there mate, when hamza posted this deal, I saw there were already 300+ people bought this product today sign above the adding to basket sign

Plenty of stock to go around

    Dual controller bundle….if you’re quick!

    • yup confirmed it is working, but didn't go through with the payment. It'll just be an expensive paperweight in this house.

      • I got all the way to entering payment details on the previous Big W deal (lasted 20 mins) then realised I just had serious OzB fomo for a product I've never thought about and exited the page. Made me think about what I was doing with my time - off course that was until the next bargain popped up :)

    • Thanks! Managed to get an order through before the bundle went OOS.

Good luck to those still searching.

For those like me who are always too late:

I was at Harvey Norman (Ryde) buying other stuff in the electronics department over the weekend and thought I'd try my luck and just ask them if they have any stock coming in. I was told that they have a waiting/pre-order list if I wanted to join. The expected delivery was for 30 units in April, and only 15 people on that list.

My thoughts were it could take months, but had nothing to lose, so I said, why not!.

3 days later (which was yesterday [Tuesday] I get a call to tell me my PS5 is ready for pickup!

Give other retailers a call and ask. You never know!

That's F-ed up. I placed order with HN in March for April pickup but until today, they are not ready…

      • I got some insight to how they function when I was putting down my order and they confirmed each their individual franchises.
Within the HN in Ryde there were 4 separate business owners, so don't call up head office and maybe visit in store as they all manage their own stock. I have nothing but good things to say about the team that serviced us for both the electronics and white goods franchise. I also had the worst experience ever with HN in Gordon, so I wouldn't let that translate to poor experiences at other HNs. If you live near Ryde, give them a call. They might still have some left.

I just followed up on the online order again (complaining that others apparently managed to pick up in store without pre-ordering) and miraculously the order is now ready for pickup…

    • +3

I tried my local Harvey Norman store in Hoppers Crossing and was told they have the PS5 in stock but only if I sign up to a mobile plan through Optus in store with them!!!!!!.
Said no thankyou, but thought i will put this out if anyone else is interested.

      • +3

        wtf! can they do that?

        • yeah not sure what's the deal with that. may be just that store

Unless it's EB taking pre-orders, the deals on OzB are always too late.

Follow twitter and discord accounts with push notifications.
I've picked up 10 or 11 PS5s for friends and family this way.

      • +3

Friends and family…. Lol. OK broden

        • +1

Hey don't judge. They could consider their wallet as their best friend, and family member

        • I have friends who have friends… I haven't been scalping them. I've only expected RRP.

I get CC points, people get PS5s for retail price without having to compete against people scalping. It's a win-win.

          • @SnowDragon: Even if what you claim is true, you are still benefiting from buying them and onward selling them. You are contributing to the problem.

Try giving your local JB a call, they may have a waiting list that you can put your name on, don't even need to pay a deposit.

Took about 4 weeks for my disc version to arrive.

    • +1

Yep, this is how I got mine.
Having said that, some stores will want you to go in.

  • +1

These things are becoming more available all the time now. Scalper cash cow is dying.

    • suckers!!

      • I've still not had a compelling reason to upgrade my PS4. A few exclusive titles. Meh. The whole shortage and FOMO thing has driven sales even higher than they would have been than if people could just have gone and bought one whenever they want.

        • Fast loading would be compelling enough, no more looking at long loading screens

          • +1

@Spendmore: I've never been upset with loading times, short break gives me a chance to have a vape and scratch my nuts before I head back into it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Then again I don't play battle royale type stuff where it's loading complete new worlds again and again.

  • they should start writing down names of people genuinely looking, and pay a deposit once received come into store pickup, its about time one of the stores should take reponsibility to start with it as online sales in more of a scalpers game.

  • The good guys have a PS5 disc version with extra controller bundle for $828
